The next morning I wake up on my tiny and uncomfortable couch. I reach for my phone, and I see it's almost 9 in the morning and also 8 new texts from Niall. Well I shouldn't be surprised, I fell asleep without letting him know. I immediately text him that I'm up and that I apologize for falling asleep so suddenly. As I wait for him to text back, I make myself some oatmeal and grab my laptop to start on my work. I feel my phone buzz.

*Don't worry . You needed the sleep. I just got worried.*

*How sweet. How was your night?*

*The usual. Got ready for the next show, but good news, only 2 more stops (; *

*Well make the most of them and have fun ! It'll all be worth it.*

Less than a week and I'll finally be able to see him again. I really hope I'm not distracting him when it comes to performing.

Niall's POV

I'm sitting in our tour bus on our way to Arizona. I pass the time while playing guitar and texting Nicole. Every time I see her name pop up on my phone, my heart skips a beat. I'm pretty sure my friends who play in my band know something's up. They've been teasing me and realized I've been really focused on my phone lately. They don't know I went out with Nicole after the show in Chicago so they can't really prove anything. But it's really hard to hide her from them. I want to brag about how beautiful she is and how much we get along. I don't want anything to spread yet and it'll be hard to hide from the public attention once I go see her cause I do want to take her out and show her off but it'll go around. I don't want to overwhelm her and I'll wait until she's ready.

John who plays bass sits next to me and doesn't say anything.

"What's up man? You good?" I ask.

"I'm perfectly fine. I came to see if you're okay." He replies looking worried.

I'm better than ever. Just playing guitar as usual." I lie. I'm feeling perfect, not only playing guitar but also texting Nicole.

As my buzzes, we both look at it at the same time. Next thing I know, John grabs it before I do. I hide my face into the palm of my hand with my head down as John reads the text.

" 'Haha. Well, I can't wait to show you parts of Chicago you haven't seen yet. I promise I'll try to make it somewhat fun ;p' " He looks back at me and smiles. "Who's Nicole?"

"Just this girl I met." I blush.

"At the show in Chicago?" He smirks and winks.

"Well in Chicago but way before the show. It was in the morning when I went to get the coffee." I say smiling as I remember the way she looked, with her slightly messy hair and dressed casually.

"Why didn't you tell us?!"

"Because I didn't want to make a big deal out of it. I didn't even know how our date was gonna go that night." I say shyly but immediately look up right after I realized I mentioned us going out.

"Okay hold up. Tell me everything that happened. Because I didn't know you had a date."

I end up telling him how that whole day went. He's smiling throughout the entire story and it felt so good to let it out. I tell him to not tell the rest of the guys since I wanna wait and see how it's gonna go when I see her in Chicago.
