Everybody stood in front of the door. All of them but Kennedy had masks because she wasn't affected by the haze. She just had a bandana, and a jacket wrapped around her.
"Any last words?" Violet asked everybody. Diesel looked at her.
"Good riddance." He said and walked towards the door. Everybody put their masks on and got ready.
"How could you do that? Do you think of anybody besides yourself?" Zoey asked, appearing out of nowhere and slapped Barrett when she walked up to him.
"Felicity is dead because of you." Sadie said.
"Hand it over." Anka said as she pointed a gun at Barrett.
"Where's the missing piece?"
"You have the wrong person." Barrett defended himself.
"Do it." Zoey ordered. Kennedy glared at her.
"Stop." Grover said.
"Give me one good reason." Anka ordered.
"It wasn't him." Everybody looked at Grover. "It was me. I sabotaged the Beacon. I didn't know what would happen." Kennedy stayed behind Diesel before she let herself lose control. The anger and the hunger were yet again growing inside of her. Grover's bag was dumped out and Diesel picked up a picture.
"This is what he showed the blue suits." Diesel said as she showed them the picture. "What is a retrieval target? He showed the blue suit dude, and it stopped him from shooting him."
"So, this whole time, you were never in danger of being shot, even if the helicopter brought a bunch of your blue suits?" Anka asked.
"I wasn't sure about that." Grover replied.
"But it saved you once before."
A slight argument started until Grover's dad was brought up. Grover immediately defended himself and Kennedy looked at him. The group walked away from Grover and immediately, Kennedy walked into a classroom and held the door shut.
"Kennedy, what's wrong?" Diesel asked as he stood on the other side of the door.
"I'm fine." Kennedy replied, breathing deep. Her hands shook as she pushed the feeling down. What the group was going through was causing a lot of emotions to stir inside of her.
----------------------------
Kennedy stood with the group as Grover was being forced out. It wasn't right, but Kennedy wasn't gonna say anything. She just looked at Diesel and walked away. Diesel followed her and grabbed her arm, stopping her.
"Don't." Kennedy said as she pulled her arm out of his grasp. "Right now, I am five seconds away from giving up on fighting whatever is inside of me. I don't care what Grover or Barrett has done. Just...space. Give me space right now. You screwed up when you made Grover leave, don't touch me."
-----------------------------
Kennedy walked into the room and Anka looked at her. She sat down against the wall as they played truth or dare. It was getting pretty heated, and Kennedy just smirked.
"Perfect, darkness." Kennedy said when the lights went out.
"I'm gonna go check that out." Diesel said as he stood up.
"My dad's an electrician, I can help." Sadie said. Diesel nodded and looked at Kennedy. She rolled her eyes and held her hand out. Diesel helped her up and she walked to the basement with them. Kennedy did feel like a guard dog, but she didn't care, it meant keeping everybody she cared about safe.
