The first thing Violet noticed was the hard surface beneath her. She cracked her eyes open, her blurry vision focusing on the wooden beams above her. She inhaled deeply, bringing a hand up to the grogginess away from her eyes, when the nights events came crashing down on her mind. Suddenly, her once sleepy and tired eyes shot wide open, and heart picked up a pace faster.
She heard soft breathing beside her, and there, under the navy blue comforter she had given yesterday, was the star Seeker.
Violet's immediate instinct was to scurry away. To jump out and aim her wand at the girl, but she stared at Trinity a second too long, and her defensive instinct dissipated away with the gentleness and strength of wind blowing sand away.
Trinity inhaled deeply, and exhaled softly and slowly.
Violet had the urge to brush the stray strands of golden hair out of Trinity's face. She didn't though, not because she resisted but because the urge to simply stare at Trinity's sleeping form was greater.
The Seeker looked incredibly at peace in this state, and Violet was soaking it all in.
She mulled over what the Seeker had admitted to her last night, and she found it hard to believe that almost everyone regarded Trinity as some simple girl. Even Trinity regarded herself as that, but Violet knew it to be different.
She knew better.
The Seeker had pressure from the world. She was aware people expect something of her, even when she may not know what that is. What interested Violet the most was how Trinity was able to block her ability. No one had ever been able to do that.
Ever.
Ravenstick had said that Trinity was able to send stronger spells, but was that truly the reason why? How did Ravenstick know of her ability, when no other Professor does? Violet had been keeping an ear out and had found out that Trinity was indeed skilled in dueling, but no one said anything was out of the ordinary when she dueled. Violet was sure that Trinity's capabilities would be noticeable in public combat, so how she had managed to keep it hidden was beyond her.
Violet considered that Trinity may not even know what she was capable of. When she blocked her lightening, Trinity seemed more confused than anything else. Then, there was the whole scene with Alice with the Houses. Trinity was instantly triggered, and Violet wondered what exactly the two girls knew. She wondered what was the whole ordeal between Trinity and the Houses.
A Seeker who could've gone to Gryffindor, who had stronger spells, and was incredibly virtuous was sent to Ravenclaw. She didn't understand how or why.
Perhaps Trinity wasn't as virtuous as she seemed. Professor Verne had said Trinity had shown some Ravenclaw properties, but people had always wondered why she wasn't placed in Gryffindor. Violet wanted to know why she wasn't, as well as know why it was such a big deal.
"What are you?" Violet whispered, reaching out to finally brush the stray hairs away. Trinity scrunched her nose at the soft contact, but remained still otherwise.
A sudden thought occurred to Violet, and she almost laughed out loud. If Alice would walk in, she would more than likely freak out at the scene she would find herself in.
It didn't take a genius to know that Alice was jealous of Trinity, and it appalled Violet to no end. She had wondered what was so great about the Seeker to be that vengeful of, but after last night she understood why. Trinity was a beautiful specimen. The way she looked at the stars, as if they were her only comfort, full of admiration and honesty, Violet knew those honey- colored orbs would trap anyone if she stared at them like that.
