Trinity was just about ready to punch Kayla in the face.

She was currently sitting on the edge of her bed, an elbow on her knee, and a hand propping her head up as her best friend rattled off on today's events.

"...and to top it all off, I hear that you and Alice fought today! What the hell was that all about Trin?" Kayla put her hands on her hips, looking at Trinity in a scolding manner.

Trinity wondered what Violet was doing, considering Trinity was able to save her the speech by telling Kayla that whatever she wanted to talk about had to leave Violet out of it. Kayla, of course, protested, but Trinity put her foot down on the subject.

There was a moment where Trinity thought Violet was going to protest as well, to perhaps stay with Trinity during the whole heat Kayla was throwing at her, but then the purple-eyed girl nodded and went her own way.

Trinity sighed. So much for being friends.

"Hello? Are you even listening right now?" Kayla asked, throwing her hands up in frustration.

"Yes yes Kayla, gods, give me a break." Trinity responded exasperated. "Can I go to sleep now?"

"No, you little turd of course you can't go to sleep." Kayla said. "You and Alice. Why?"

"She started it," Trinity finally answered. "Believe me, I wouldn't have talked to her otherwise."

"There are rumors Trin," Kayla told her, her voice going lower in octave. Her expression changed from frustration to complete seriousness. "Bad ones. Did she really talk about the houses?"

Trinity's brows dropped, furrowing together, and to anyone it would've looked like she was pissed off. Really, she was just upset now, triggered by what Kayla had just said.

"You shouldn't believe rumors Kay, and you know how I feel about them."

"What else am I supposed to turn to when you won't tell me what's wrong?"

"Theyre rumors, it's not like those are concrete information anyways."

"They're the only piece of information I get about my best friend who won't tell me what's wrong."

"For good reason," Trinity retorted. "I am not in the mood to talk about today's events, especially the part with Alice."

"We need to talk about it, or else it's going to eat you up on the inside."

"I'm fine Kayla."

"No you're not-"

"You know what? I'm over this conversation. I'm going to bed." Trinity said, standing up and giving her back to Kayla as she went to her night stand.

"Trin, everyone is talking about the houses, and Alice may be spreading more rumors-"

"Then let them talk!" Trinity fired at her, whirling around. Kaylas eyes widened at the outburst and Trinity stepped forward, her expression turning apologetic. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean...I'm sorry."

"No it's alright," Kayla amended. "I'm sorry for pushing you."

Trinity sighed, and she flopped on her bed, resting her elbows on her knees and putting her head down. "Violet handled it. Alice won't say anything about the houses."

"What did Violet do to make her stay quiet?"

"Some kind of threat, I think," Trinity guessed. "Though I honestly have no idea. She never told me."

Kayla exhaled through her teeth, almost in frustration. "Of course she didn't. Why would she?"

Trinity frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"
