We talked for the next couple of hours with ease. We talked about school, friends, more books, what farm life is like, and then we got on the topic of what to do with me.

"No! I'm not going to leave you back where I found you not like your family. You are a good person and don't deserve that, " Matthew said with a demanding tone.

"Why not! It is not your fault that I was throw out on the side of the road, it was mind, so if you would please take me back I can find my way out of this thing. Thank you though for your help and your roof and talk for the few hours we were together. It was very nice. Maybe once I get back on my feet we can hang out sometime." I said not wanted to have to put the burden of me on Matthew's shoulders.

"You can't just go back to the side of the road where I got you. Also, it was my choice to pick you up not yours. That leaves me responsible for you. Clearly, you are not a bad person and I am starting to like you," Matthew said demanding yet with shiness.

"Really? I thought you would just think of me as a dork from the side of the road who as no life, and if I did have a life I ruined it," I said totally surprised at Matthew's thoughts about me.

"Yes you are a little dorky, but that is what makes you cute. I know whatever you must have down was not on purpose and didn't mean to hurt anyone. You are also very pretty, so that helps, " Matthew barely whispered turning bright red.

"Thanks," I said trying not to swell with too much pride, but taking the compliment because I had never truly gotten one before.

We said in silence for a little bit letting our thoughts wonder hoping they would find the idea that would say me from the side of the road.

"Hey! I got an idea," Matthew said, " but first we have to go outside and see if it will work. Or more importantly, you will agree to it. We both got up and headed outside, once we were out of the house I let Matthew lead the way still not knowing what his plan was. On the way to the "plan", I got to see what I think was most of their animals. They had a few horses, tons of cows, and a few chickens running around the yard. After a short walk from the house, we got to the barn.

"Hey, why are we going to the barn for your plan?" I said worried about what he might have in store.

"Well, you see we have a loft in the barn and I was going to look up there and see how much room there is for someone to maybe hideout," Matthew looked at me raising an eyebrow.

"That's a great plan! How come we hadn't come up with it before? And yes if you were wondering I will stay in the barn, it is a whole lot better than staying on the side of the road," I said with a wide smile.

"Great now let's get up there," he said looking up at the looming loft up above.
