I'm sorry it's blurry.

I'm gonna take this chance to develop my baby Prince Shrimp's backstory...

The water I swam through as fast as I possibly could was a blend of my tears and the see through axolotls screaming at me for their loss

The water I swam through as fast as I possibly could was a blend of my tears and the see through axolotls screaming at me for their loss. Most were headless, but my father, the biggest and loudest of them all, only had a small cut in his side. For the millionth time, I shouted "I'm sorry!", but it just seemed to anger them more.

I was exhausted and hopeless, but I desperately needed to get out of this forsaken place. I was slowing down but I couldn't dare stop. All the lies I've told and the lives I've took would catch up to me. From the chaos and madness that took over my mind, my brain allowed me one peaceful thought.
Shark
The only axolotyl alive that supported me. The only one that defended me. I regret leaving her in the kingdom.
Then, my mind had to go to the dark place again when all the souls she convinced me to murder screeched at me again. My adrenaline and anger coming back at the same time. Shark also yelled almost as loud as my father whenever I disagreed with her. She is the one who made me kill them all. My rage was replaced with complete surprise as a roar in the water cast a shadow over my head. An object in the water neither fish nor plant charged against the water about as gracefully as a stray dog in the ocean. A very very big dog. With my fixation on the object, a didn't notice a large net encircling my body and pulling me up without my control.

All I saw was a blur of colors and shadows. All I felt was the need for water.
"Aw, poor guy. He has some ring around his throat. Looks like it's been there for a while."
"No one cares about the stupid fish. Just put it in the tank."
"It's an amphibian."
"My point still still stands."
"Fine."
I can't die yet, I'm still young. If I die, I'll have to physically face all my victims.
Just to remind me, all the ghosts younger than me scream about how I framed them. Before I know it, I'm thrown into a pocket of water and knocked out.

How long I've been here, I don't know. I no longer have the symbol to show my royalty and I'm in a space of water that I can't swim freely in. Plastic mocking the plants of the ocean and my food that smells and tastes like rotten fish remind me that I am worthless.
I have a big tank compared to the others because I fought all the axolotyls they tried to put with me. The ghosts don't seem to come to me much anymore, but when they do I go into a game fit of insanity and injure anything or anyone in the vicinity of me.
It would be nice to have some company.
A familiar blur moves outside the glass, but it seems to be pointing at me. I am swallowed by a clear bag and I struggle with all my might, but the invisible walls are too strong. I give up, where would I even go? I am bumped and spun in circles from the water sloshing around, but I can't do a thing about it.
Finally we stop, and I am splashed into a big tank. They drop a worm into it, but I'm too on edge to eat. I examine my surroundings, much better than my old tank. Then, I hear a high pitched voice.
"Hey there! My name is Freckle, what's yours?"
I stay silent, they don't seem like a threat but I definitely don't trust them. Their name makes sense, freckles line their whole body. However, who names their axolotyl Freckle, I would name them Salmon.
"I remember my first day here, kinda scary. But I'll be your guide! I'm so glad to have a new friend."
They definitely don't have suspicions about me at all. They seem oblivious and have no fighting experience. About my age.
"Not much of a talker, huh. Don't worry! The people who take care of us are nice and we get good food. Oh by the way, cool thingamabobs on your head."
Does she mean my royal antennae? Doesn't she know a king when she sees one??
"I'm King Shrimp."
"Ooh they named you King, that's so cool! I wish I was named Princess.."
Does she think it's my name? I deserve more respect than that!
"No, it's my title! My name is Shrimp and I'm a king."
She cocks her head in curiosity.
"King of what?"
"Kingdom of Xochimilco."
She is really clueless if she doesn't know that.
"I think my grandma was from there, that's awesome! So you've really been to the wild?"
Her eyes gleamed in fascination. This explains a lot, she was born in captivity.

Our  conversation lasted hours, and I learned a lot about this place. Maybe I can stay here for a while...
