Chapter four

"Mom!" I yell as I throw my bag at the door.
Shawn does the same while Ashlynn stands there awkwardly.
"Don't worry my mom is nice and she won't bother us I promise." I said.
She smiled,"what a relief. most parents are all huffy around new people!"
"No mama Faye is super nice don't worry," Shawn said. "I'm gonna clean this ice cream off of me I'll be back."
"Are you hungry?" I asked her while walking to the pantry.
"Yes I'm like starving!" Ashlynn replied.
"Okay we have chips, cereal, blah blah blah. you can look I'm gonna go find my mom. I'll be back." I said.
"Ma! were are you?" I yelled.
"I'm in the basement honey, why don't you come here for a minute." she answered.
I walk down there, she's in the area where we keep our decorations.
"Fall decorations are over there," I point.
"Thanks honey, who all is here?" she asks.
"Well Shawn obviously an my friend Ashlynn." I reply.
"I need help decorating and bringing the decors upstairs, can you get them to come down and help me please?" she said. I nodded in response.
"Shawn!"I yell as I walk towards the bathroom. "mum needs your help down stairs." he nods and walks down the steps.
"Hey do you mind helping us decorate the house for fall?" I ask ashlynn.
"No not at all, I love decorating." she responds.

"The house looks great guys thank you so so much!" mom gasps. "oh and by the way I'm mama Faye nice to meet you!" she greets ashlynn.
"Nice to meet you too! Sorry to go so soon but it's 4:30 and dinners at 5:30 and I have to help, bye everyonel. it was nice meeting you mrs. Faye!" she says as she walks out the door.
"You staying for dinner honey?" my mom asks Shawn.
"Uh not sure let me talk to my mom," he walks out the back door to his backyard.
"What are we having mom?" I ask her.
"I'm thinking about calling your father and having him pick up some hot dogs and hamburgers for us to grill." she says.
"well then why don't we invite Shawn and his family over?" I question.
"Good idea, lets go over there and ask," we walk to Shawn's house."knock knock, hey everyone." she says as she walks into the Mendez household. "do you want to come over for a grill out tonight?"
"I was just about to ask you the same thing!" mama Mendez exclaimed.
"Who's house?" I ask.
"Why don't we just do it in the backyard?" my mom suggests.
"Works for me!" Shawn's mom said.
