Spencer was sitting at a bench in the local park by herself. She was waiting for Owen to show up, so she could officially end things with him. She had told her friends she had, to make herself not look like such a whore, but truth was she hadn’t yet. But now she realized she had to.

“Hey,” Owen said, sitting down next to her.

“Hi.” Spencer sighed. “We need to talk.”

“Oh no.”

Spencer smiled slightly, then stopped. “I...I’m...” she stopped.

“Spencer, what’s wrong?” Owen said, concerned.

“Haven’t you noticed me drifting?” she asked him.

“N-no,” he stuttered.

“No. I have been. We both know that.” She shook her head. “Please tell me you know I have to let you go.”

“Wait, why?” Owen asked, a tear filling his brown eye.

“I feel like I’m slowly falling out of love with you.” Spencer felt the tears welling up. “I can’t help it, but I am.”

“Is this about Bryce?” Owen said quietly.

“No. It’s not about Bryce. It’s about me and it’s about you. And by keeping us going, I feel like I’m losing myself in this relationship. I don’t know who I am anymore. I’m not sure if you’ve changed me or what...but I can’t be myself with you anymore.”

“What? Why not? What did I do to change that?”

“Owen, you don’t let me choose who I can love. And I feel so guilty because I don’t love you anymore, but I just can’t help it.”

“Have you fallen in love with Bryce?”

Spencer sighed as she started crying. “I...I don’t know.” She started crying harder. “But I do know that I have to let you go. I’m so sorry.”

He wiped away his tears and then hers. “I’m sorry I couldn’t be what you wanted,” he said. “Goodbye, Spencer.” Owen got up and walked away. Leaving a crying Spencer on the bench.

It was the Sunday after Spencer broke up with Owen and Spencer was lying on her couch, her MacBook stationed on her lap. Bryce sat at the other side of the sectional staring at her.

“‘Though he's the size of a strawberry and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development,’” Spencer read from the website.

Bryce laughed. “Why do they compare unborn babies to fruits?” Spencer grinned, in response. Bryce seemed to be warming up to the whole pregnancy idea and since now Owen and Spencer were over, Bryce was a regular visitor in the Williams’ household. Thanks to the pregnancy, Bryce had also changed as a person all together. He stopped hooking up with girls and started being more of a gentlemen instead of a douchebag. Spencer had been seeing another, happier side of Bryce that laughed a lot and had a great sense of humor. But if you asked her, she didn’t have a thing for him. Not at all.

“Okay, so, Spencer, I have to tell you something,” Bryce said, putting out the recliner built into the sectional. He leaned back a bit.

Spencer’s eyes widened and she closed the laptop. “What?” She bit her lip.

“Okay, so I’ve got this friend, right? He’s this really awesome guy. He’s really funny and good looking, I guess, if you’re asking from my point of view.” Spencer was confused. Where was this leading? “Anyways, he’s been single for a while know and he was wondering if I’d ask you if you knew anyone you could hook him up with.”
