Damon's POV

It is the end of the football season and of course my team won. Couldn't have it any other way. And to celebrate there is massive beach party. I am expecting the whole school to turn up.

To be honest I'm not the partying type, but at the beach... I can imagine it to be a lot more fun. I'm driving alone since all of my friends have girlfriends so I didn't want to be third wheeling. I'm currently single, and I like it. All the girls in my school are not my type. Believe me, some of them are very kind and some really hot but none I want to have a serious relationship with. I'm not proud of it but I date the hot girls for a couple of weeks, sleep with them, and break up not long after that. A guy has needs. Sex is one of them. Being in a serious relationship is not.

I arrive at the beach, it's already dark and it looks like everyone is already drunk. I look around, I see people making out and well that's it. I walk around to the other side of the bonfire that located at one side of the beach near to a bar.

I stand there for awhile, making small talk with a few people when I feel someone jump on my back. "You're late!"

The person jumps off and I turn to see who it is. Bonnie. She's one my closest friends. We don't hang around much in school but we've always been close. I know she's not friends of me because of my popularity which I like. She gives me a quick hug before pushing me away. "Ouch." I say sarcastically. "The party started hours ago, where the hell have you been?" She says as she puts her arms on her hips. "Out." I say bluntly. "Ew don't tell me you was with another girl. Ewww just hugged you! I may have her germs on me!" She shouts as she brushes her clothes down. She's adorable when she's drunk. "I wasn't with a girl I was just out but now you mention girls, there is a reason boys come to parties" I smirk at her. She slaps my on the shoulder "you pig." "I'm kidding" I say defensively, "but looks like I'm behind on the drinking." Bonnie glares at me, "you actually want to drink?" "God yes." I blurt out, hoping she didn't hear the desperation in my voice. She simply grabs my hand and says "follow me."

An hour and 10 drinks later, I find myself walking towards to sea, looking at the moon reflects down on it. I start walking along the beach, I have had enough of the alcohol and loud music. I'll go back but I just want five minutes, there's only many drunk girls a guy can take. Not that I don't like it I'll probably go and join them later on.

"Hey! Watch where you are going" I looked around to see where the voice had come from. I looked down to see a girl sitting on the ground, her head resting on her knees. I must have just stepped on her foot. "Sorry" was all I could mumble out. She looked up and I must say she looked hot. No not hot, beautiful. Her curly long dark hair was flowing down one shoulder, her eyes sparkled in the moonlight and her lips... I couldn't help but stare.

"Take a photo it will last longer" She must have noticed that I was staring at her. "You've got quite the attitude." I said as I took a step back, examining her further. That's when it clicked. I knew this girl. It was Elena.

"So I have been told." She laid down on the beach. "How much have you had to drink?"

She moved her head to the side to look at me, "enough to know I feel happy" she said with a smile. Damn her smile was beautiful, even a drunk one I knew was fake. "What about you Salvatore?"

"A lot and you know who I am?"
"Doesn't everyone."
"Good point Gilbert."
"You can recognise me even in this outfit?" I looked down to see what she was wearing and it was definitely not something she would usually wear. In school I would always see her wearing jeans, most of which had tears across them, sneakers and always a hoodie. Even in the summer she'd wear a hoodie. But right now she was wearing a dress. I couldn't make out what was on it but it was not the hoodie she would usually wear.
