4 weeks pregnant

Damon's POV

Friday. Great. Another day at school.

I usually enjoy school but I have been so distracted ever since I found out about Elena. I want to stop her from having an abortion, I am even willing to raise the child but I know she doesn't want it. She's probably already seen a doctor to get rid of it. But now I find myself wondering what my life would be like if she kept it and I lived a life where I get to be the father to her child.

I am still the same Damon. I don't want a serious relationship and right now I don't want sex considering what happened with Elena but I do feel something for that kid.

After having a quick shower and getting changed I walked downstairs to the kitchen. Where my father was sitting having breakfast.

"Morning son." He said looking briefly up from his newspaper.
"Morning." I could hear the depression in my voice. Well I know it's not depression, just me imagining what me life could have been. " I think I am going to take the day off school." I announced.
"Damon you need your education, you are not taking the day off school." My father said sternly.
"I can't go in today."
"Are you sick?" I remained silent, I didn't want to say that I got a girl pregnant but she's probably already had the abortion so my mind is a little scattered. But I need to speak to someone. I finally answered, "I have a lot on my mind right now."
"Care to share?" He asked with genuine concern. Should I tell him.
"Do you remember mum talking about that girl, Elena?"
"Yes. I thought this behaviour of yours might have something to go with her. You've been quiet and just not acting yourself ever since your mother told you about her trying to steal from the pharmacy."
"Yeah well it's not the fact she stole that's been on mind, it's what she stole." I said hoping that he could work out what I meant.
"A pregnancy test? Oh son please don't tell me." He sighed. I looked down at the table. "Are you the father to that young girls child?" He asked.
"Yes." I practically whispered. I would be surprised if he heard.

We sat there is silence for awhile. My poor dad was most likely trying to process the fact his near eighteen year old son has knocked up a girl that he isn't even dating.

My dad finally broke the silence. "Have you spoken to this Elena?" I nodded. "What did she say?"
"Well cliff notes version she confirmed that she is pregnant and that I am the one that got her pregnant but she also made it perfectly clear that she doesn't want to keep the baby. The last time we spoke we around two weeks so really I would be shocked if she is still pregnant." My voice began to break as I said out loud my child may no longer exist.
"So are you feeling guilty of getting her pregnant or are you upset she did not wish to keep it?"
"Honestly both but mostly the second. And before you shout at me for getting a girl pregnant and the wanting to keep the baby I already know I am an idiot. I know that I am young, too young to be a good dad, that I have next to no money of my own and have a kid now will ruin my future but I wanted to keep it. I did try to get Elena to agree to adoption but she said she doesn't want to even be pregnant. I can't blame her, she's got the harder part of the deal but this whole situation feels like is crushing me."
"Well I am glad you told me. I don't really know what to say Damon. First how could you be so stupid to get a girl pregnant that you barely even know." I could tell it was taking everything inside of my dad to not shout at me and probably kick my ass. "But the situation has been taken out of your hands. If Elena decided to get an abortion that is her choice to make. I don't agree with it and obviously you don't but it is her choice and you are going to have to find away to respect that and move on." My dad took a deep intake of breath and looked at me straight in the eye. "I am disappointed in you son but I don't know what else to say to you."
"I am sorry."
"This is not the end of this conversation but I think we could both take the day to think things over."
