Damon's POV

I guess Elena is just another girl. As Katerina will be.

I get into my car to drive home. I can't stop thinking about when I walked into Elena. She looked upset and I know she doesn't have anyone to talk to. Not that I have seen anyway. I want to help. I don't know why but I do.

Once I get home I do my homework, knowing if I don't my parents will shout at me. I'm sitting at the island in the kitchen when my parents walk in. My dad owns his own company. Some software company. But he always picks my mum up on the way home. Which I think is cute. My mum was a doctor but after my brother died she didn't want to work in a hospital anymore and she wanted to be able to spend more time with the family. So now she owns a pharmacy. I think she enjoys it.

My mum walks over to me and kisses me on the head, "Hi sweetie."
"Hey mum. Where's dad?"
"He got a phone call so he's taking it in the study. Probably work related."
"Okay."
"How was your day?" She asks as she starts getting ingredients out for dinner.
"Alright, getting harder though."
"You'll do brilliant I know."
"Thanks. How was your day?"
"Fine did have one young girl try to steal though."
"What? Did you call the police?" I am now standing up looking at her.
"Calm down Damon it's fine. She handed it back to me but I let her keep it." I sit back down.
"Why did you let her keep it?"
"Because it was a pregnancy test and she looked so young."
"So you took pity upon some teenage girl who got herself pregnant?"
"I know how scary and stressful pregnancy can be so I wanted to help her. And age doesn't matter. Yes she is young but it does not mean I should be rude to her. She looked like she needed help so I helped her."
"Maybe you should always give out free pregnancy tests."
"Maybe I will. It's wrong women have to pay for them."
My mum starts cooking. "You're still thinking about that girl aren't you?" I ask her.
"Yes. She looked so scared and alone. It's hard to describe but the clothes she was wearing were dirty and she looked so skinny. I really hope she's okay."
"That is the doctor side of you coming out."
"And the mother side." She looks over to me, "you know I think she must be about about your age. Maybe you know her."
"Maybe. Do you know her name?" I ask while doing my homework, only half paying attention to what my mother is saying.
"Yeah it is Elena urm Gillies maybe." I dropped my pen and looked at my mum.
"Do you mean Elena Gilbert?"
"Oh yes that was it. Do you know her sweetie?"
"Yeah she's in my school we... we used to be friends." I can't tell my mum I am maybe the one who got her pregnant. Shit. What if I have?
"Well maybe you should be friends again. I am sure she could use somebody."
"Yeah. Do you really thing she is pregnant? Like did she look it?"
"I don't know it's hard to say. If she is, she is still early into it bless her."
"Yeah. I am going to finish my homework in my bedroom. I need to use my laptop."

I walk up to my room and sit down on my bed. I pull out my phone to text her, soon realising that I don't have her number.

I lay down and think to myself. Should I speak to her? If she wanted to talk she could have already come up to me? And there is a big chance she isn't pregnant? Like it was one night and surely she took the pill. And if she is pregnant how do we even know that it is mine? She has slept with most the guys in the school.

But if she is pregnant and she can prove that it is mine of course I will help. I have a duty to. I just need to talk to her before I start planning out what I am going to do. I am going to get into school early tomorrow morning and find her. She acts like a bitch but I am hoping that is just a front she puts up.

Tuesday morning

I get to school as soon as the school opens. My parents didn't question it, I just told them that I needed to use the library for homework. I walk around the school hoping to find her, I know she may not get into school until lessons start but there is a chance she may be here. I hope so because I would prefer to talk to her with no one else around.
