Chapter 4

I sit in the family room as Abella watches another princess movie, me gradeing papers as usual. The week blew by it's almost been a week since Liam and I had sex and I feel great! Life is normal except the food at the market has been making me sick to my stomach. I think I caught the stomach flu or something at times, but it wasn't like the stomach flu. I finish up another paper when the door bell rings I get up and go to the door to see Leroy is there. I smile at him.

"Hey big bro!" I chrip. He smiles at me and gives me a gigantic hug in the process.

"Alright, I was going to take you and princess Jasmine out to dinner," he says walking into the family room were Abella is still dressed up as Jasmine watching the movie Aladin, her big tiger next to her. I chuckle quietly as her eyes go wide when the Aladin goes on the magic capret ride with Jasmine.

"You want to go out to eat with Uncle Leroy?" I ask. She looks at me and shakes her head. I chuckle and call the babysitter and quickly change into something more presentable then sweats and a t-shirt.

"Ready?" Leroy asks. As I tell Courtney the last of the insturctions. I nod and lock the door behind me leaving my angel behind.

"So how's work?" I question as we drive to a small Italian resturant that has the best food I've ever tasted, that is luckly close by.

"Alright, you know having to practice and all but other than that good," he says with a smile forming on his lips.

"That's great Leroy," I smile at him.

"Yeah, so how's your work going?" he asks getting out of the car. I follow behind and walk into the resturant.

"Umm it could be better at times but other than that great!" I chrip. As the waiter gives us are menus and we look at them intently for a while. Not one of those awkward silences but a nice one peaceful.

"That's really good Lani! I'm so proud," he smiles at me. I nod I can tell somethings up and I don't know what. Leroy is usually the type to ramble a while until you have to tell him to shut up but when somethings up he is really quiet and on edge.

"Alright Leroy what's up? And don't try to lie I know when you lie," I say pointing my finger at him. He sighs and tosseles his hair with his hand looking pained almost.

"There's this rumor that you and Liam had sex and I want to know if it's the truth," he says looking at me right in the eye. I freeze up, my heart starts to pound like a race horse hoves pounding on the sand but it's track my rib cage. My hands feel sweaty as I sit there looking at him, I take a huge gulp not knowing what to do.

"Y-y-y-yes it is," I whisper looking at my hands which are sitting in my lap. Leroy sighs in frustration I look up to see he has a pained expression. Luckily the waiter comes by and gives us the food and we eat in silence the only sound of are forks tapping as we eat. As we drive home, Leroy sits out in the front of my apartment for a minute until finally speaking.

"Lani, I don't want him to hurt you again. But he already has Lani he used you. He has a girlfriend for the past six months which is amazing since usually he's with a girl almost every week, but I think both of you need to move. So you need to start dating again Lani get your mind off of him, okay?" he says finishing his lecture on me. I nod.

"Yeah," I say giving him my best fake smile as I leave and shut the door. As I walk up to my apartment, while my heart breaks into tiny little pieces as if it was a mirror. I open up the door and pay Courtney and go to bed. In the morning I feel the whole bed shake as it gets jumped on from Abella. I crack my eye open to see her smiling at me her curls going up and down as she jumps.

"Happy Birtdayyyyy Mommy!" she shouts. Getting down she runs into the family room I get up and brush my hair and follow her. As soon as I get there Abella is sitting at the table eating her ceral that must of been left over from dinner. I smile and kiss the top of her head and turn on my iPod to The Dixie Cups Chapel of Love comes on.
