Leigh-Anne walked aimlessly around the school courtyard, trying to find somewhere to sit. This was something that Leigh-Anne feared. Loosing Violet would be loosing everything, she had no other friends. She found it hard to make friends. Violet and Leigh-Anne met on orientation day when Leigh-Anne tripped over and landed at her feet. Fate was what they always called it.
With a short sigh, Leigh-Anne took a lonely seat at the spot where Violet and her use to sit. It was going to happen sooner or later, Leigh-Anne thought to herself as she twirled her pasta around her fork. Her eyes wondered around the courtyard, they landing where Violet was. She seemed happy without Leigh-Anne. Laughing with the cheerleaders while Andre had an arm around her shoulders. Leigh-Anne could be easily replaced, she was just a boring nobody. I wish that was me, Leigh-Anne thought as she watched her former best friend not have a single care in the world.
A loud bang came from the other end of the table, making Leigh-Anne jump. She was instantly brought away from her thoughts and back to reality. To much of her annoyance, the sound had come from the all too familiar looking blonde who had thrown her head back, laughing.
"That was brilliant," she says in between laughs.
Leigh-Anne stays silent, death glaring Perrie until she stops laughing.
"You're cute when you're mad," she winks, lifting her hands from the table.
Leigh-Anne stays silent again, not knowing how to respond to the comment. Leigh-Anne turns her gaze back to her ex-best friend and sighs.
"Did you want to sit with us?" Perrie offers, her face had softened.
"Uh..." Leigh-Anne slowly turns her face towards Perrie, who was staring at her. Leigh-Anne never noticed how pretty Perrie's eyes looked in the sunlight, they were beautiful.
"Come on, do you really want to sit by yourself?" Perrie asks, raising her eyebrow, snapping Leigh-Anne away from her thoughts.
Of course Leigh-Anne didn't want to sit by herself but she wasn't sure that siting with Perrie's Posse would be any better.
"I'll be okay," Leigh-Anne replied, picking up the book that was resting beside her.
"Nope, come on," Perrie said, pulling Leigh-Anne up from her chair.
Leigh-Anne was pulled up so quickly that she almost lost her balance, earring laugh from Perrie. The blonde beckoned the raven-haired girl to follow her. A small but deep sigh was released and Leigh-Anne quickly followed.
Perrie led them to a big tree with a group of people huddled under it. They all looked like just what Leigh-Anne had suspected. Two of them were smoking, four of them wore heavy eyeliner.
"Okay, let me introduce, this is Ellie. My best friend, she can hack into anything she wants and throws the best parties," Perrie spoke as a girl with deep orange hair and brown eyes waved with a small smile on her face.
"Declan and Sav, they kind of like my annoying brothers," She pointed to the two guys smoking, one had dark drown hair and bright blue eyes with pale skin, the other was dark-skinned with down hair that swooped over his eyes.
"Finally we have Jesy and Jake, thier love disgusts me but Jesy's my foster sister," Perrie rolls her eyes and takes a seat next to Jesy and Jake. Jesy had dark red hair and brown
So maybe the rumours were true, Leigh-Anne thought as she awkwardly took a seat next to Perrie. She didn't dare to speak a word, she was too afraid to make a fool of herself. Conversations sparked between the group as Leigh-Anne just started at the grass. Grass was nice to look at, it was green and peaceful.
"You smoke?" The dark-skinned boy asks, holding out a cigarette.
"Pardon?" Leigh-Anne said, her brown eyes widening.
"Did I stutter? Do you smoke?" He laughed, Leigh-Anne felt like she had just shrunk into a little tiny ball.
"Sav, don't be a dick," Perrie scolds, flicking Sav in his forehead.
Sav slaps away Perrie's hand and rolls his eyes while sticking the cigarette into his mouth. The bitter smell of cigarette smoke filled her lungs. She tried to hold back a cough, she didn't want to look lame.
"It's alright, I think smoking is disgusting. Cough all you want," Ellie smiled.
Leigh-Anne couldn't help but let a small grin appear on her lips.
After a few more minutes of conversation, the bell sounded. Leigh-Anne picked up her lunch sack and book. She began to walk towards her locker to get out her history notebook and supplies. She made it on time today, thankfully and took her seat at the front.
Five minutes later, Perrie walked in, late as usual. The usual banter between her and Mr Greene played out before she took her seat.
"Alright, so there is going to be a group project. Just pairs," the whole class groans, especially Leigh-Anne who despises group projects. Whoever she got paired up with, always made her do all the work. It was exhausting and stressful.
"Calm down everyone. Anyways, you will put together a presentation about any historical event from the list I will hand out. It's due is two weeks from today. Now I'll read out the partners. First we have...Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock!"
Leigh-Anne's head snapped back at Perrie who had a smug look on her face. Leigh-Anne knew for sure that Perrie would not do a single thing for this project. With a huff, Leigh-Anne made her way over to Perrie.
"Well, well, well!" Perrie smiles, kicking her feet up on the desk.
"I despise you," Leigh-Anne narrowed her eyes are the blonde as the smile from her face faded.
"Ouch. No wonder Violet was your only frien-"
"Hey!" Leigh-Anne spoke loudly, taking offence to the comment that Perrie had made, "Meet at the front of the school, okay?"
--
Leigh-Anne leant against her car, scrolling through her phone. She began to grow impatient waiting for Perrie, then again, Perrie is never on time so she'll have to get use to it. Finally, after twenty minutes, Perrie finally showed up.
"Finally, get in," Leigh-Anne spat unlocking the car.
"W-We're going in a c-car?" Perrie asked, her eyes were wide with fear, making Leigh-Anne curious.
"Um, yeah, is that okay?" Leigh-Anne questions, raising her eyebrows.
"Oh umm... sure," Perrie hesitantly makes her way into the passenger seat.
A very puzzled Leigh-Anne jumped into the drivers seat. The car ride was silent, apart from Perrie's heavy breathing. Leigh-Anne noticed Perrie's fingernails digging into her leather car seats. Concern grew over the bronzed teen so she quickly pulled over.
"Are you okay?" Leigh-Anne asked as she took the keys out of ignition.
"Oh. Uh. Yeah! Totally. Why'd you stop?" Perrie's voice was more animated that usual, making curiosity linger in Leigh-Anne mind.
Leigh-Anne chose to shrug it off as curiosity killed the cat.
