Leigh-Anne smoothed over her tight-red dress and stared at herself in the mirror. The plan that Perrie had conjured up was so absurd, Leigh-Anne had no idea what she was getting herself into. Quite frankly, she had no idea what the plan was really about. It was all blurred together like one great big panoramic picture.
There was a loud knock that came from the front door, causing Ellie to excuse herself and quickly make a run for the door. Leigh-Anne averted her eyes from the dress to her brown, thick, hair that was pulled into a tight high ponytail. Ellie had spent hours on the hair, doing her best to make Leigh-Anne look like a totally new person. The new image did bring a sense of confidence to Leigh-Anne as if she felt somewhat empowered.
The door to Ellie's bedroom flung open, Ellie and Perrie walking into the bedroom. Leigh-Anne quietly gasped as she looked Perrie up and down. Perrie had a tight black crop top on, showing her midriff. The top was paired with tight white leather shorts and knee-high boots. Perrie's golden hair was braided tightly into twin braids that fell over her shoulders.
"You clean up nicely," Leigh-Anne compliments, shifting her gaze from Perrie's exposed stomach to her eyes.
"I-Uh-You look nice too," Perrie stuttered, nibbling her bottom lip.
"Alright, let's get going. Leigh here are your heels," Ellie handed the black, strappy, high-heels to Leigh-Anne and swung her purse over her shoulder.
Leigh-Anne quickly slipped the uncomfortable shoes onto her feet and grabbed Ellie's gold sparkly clutch. The three girls made their way through Ellie's house, Leigh-Anne almost tripping over multiple times which resulted in Perrie cathing her multiple times. As the girls were walking down the street, towards Violet's, Perrie started to go over the plan.
"Okay, so the plan is to distract Andre, which is your job," Perrie started, pointing towards Leigh-Anne.
"Got it," Leigh-Anne assured.
"Then Ellie and I will sneak up towards Violet's bedroom with Declan and Sav. We'll be waiting in there for Violet. Declan and Sav will jump out of her closet wearing clown suits, she'll scream and such then for the finishing tou-" Perrie was quickly interrupted.
"This is such a stupid plan. What are you? Five?" Leigh-Anne snapped, taking all three of the girls by surprise. Leigh-Anne had grown to accept Perrie for who she was, Perrie's childish antics didn't really get to her anymore. At least, that was what she thought.
"I thought you wanted to do this?" Perrie questioned, slightly hurt.
"No, I don't! Do you think I like looking like a hooker," Leigh-Anne scolded, folding her arms over her exposed chest.
"I-I'm sorry. I thought I would be funny," Perrie's voice was quiet, Leigh-Anne could barely hear her.
Ellie just let out an awkward sigh as the girls continued to walk towards Violet's house. Night had fallen upon High Wycombe. The street was only laminated by a few street lamps and damp from the melted snow. A cold gust of wind made Leigh-Anne shiver slightly, all she wanted to do was be go home, change into comfortable clothes and climb into her bed.
The girls finally made it to Violet's house. It was just as big as she had remembered. There were a couple of teens sitting on the lawn, passed out or making out. Loud music thumped from inside the house. Perrie, Ellie and Leigh-Anne all made their way up to the front door.
Leigh-Anne reached for the handle and opened it. They got a wave of loud music in their ears and a waft of alcohol in their noses.
"You ready?" Ellie questioned, giving Leigh-Anne a small sympathetic smile.
Leigh-Anne paused for a moment before she just sighed and said "Ready."
Ellie nodded and took Perrie's hand and disappeared into the crowd of teens. Leigh-Anne smoothed over her red dress and pushed through the crowd, trying to find André. A handful of guys started to make wolf whistle noises and tried to grab her hands.
Leigh-Anne finally made her way out to the backyard when she saw him. He looked so incredibly adorable. His brown hair was slicked back and he wore a small grin on his face. I can't do this. Leigh-Anne worried to herself as she began to step back inside. But then Something caught her eye. It was Violet. She was sitting in her dream boys lap and smiling up at him. Leigh-Anne suddenly remembered the whole point of this prank. To get back at her best friend who back stabbed her.
Leigh-Anne tilted her head up and strut towards the punch bowl that was right next to Andre and Violet. Leigh-Anne poured herself a drink and sipped the alcohol.
"Hey Leigh," Violet chirped, making Leigh-Anne glance towards Violet.
"Anne," She spoke coldly, taking a sip of her drink.
"What?" Violet stood up and was now in front of Leigh-Anne.
"It's Leigh-Anne to you," Leigh-Anne was liking this new found confidence.
"Oh sorry," Violet's voice trailed off, "You look great."
"I know," Leigh-Anne lied. She didn't know she looked great. She knew she didn't look great.
"Hey, Leigh-Anne. You look really great," Andre piped up.
Butterflies swarmed around Leigh-Anne's stomach. Her eyes connected with Andre's and a slight blush color flushed her cheeks as Andre stood up.
Violet's breath hitched and she shifted positions. It was working. Guilt began to cloud Leigh-Anne's brain but she pushed it away when she thought about Violet's betrayal.
"T-Thanks," Leigh-Anne stuttered, still stunned that Andre was still talking to her.
"You're in my history, right?" He smiled his oh-so-perfect smile. It made Leigh-Anne's heart flutter into her throat.
"Yeah. I sit at the front which is total torture. Mr Green likes to pick on the people at the front," Leigh-Anne shrugged, trying to act like her heart wasn't beating one hundred miles per hour.
"You're smart though. You always know the answers to everything," Andre stated, letting off a small chuckle.
"I guess. I wouldn't think that would be something you noticed," Leigh-Anne smiled, playing with a loose strand of her hair.
Leigh-Anne could see that Violet was getting jealous. She was clinging onto Andre's lower arm, giving a slight death glare towards the girl who had newly found confidence.
"Hey, I do listen in class. I'm not a cliche jock!" he defended, playfully shoving Leigh-Anne. His touch made her hands tremble.
"Well, you sure are a good looking non-cliche jock," Leigh-Anne blurted.
Her eyes went as wide as saucers when she realized what she had said. It was an extremely creepy comment and Leigh-Anne was mentally slapping herself.
"And you're a good looking," Andre paused for a moment, Leigh-Anne could now feel her heart beat. "You're just good looking in general."
With that final comment Violet let go of Andre's arm and raised her red plastic cup. She threw the beverage over his outfit, making him gasp and step back.
"You asshole," She calls and storms away into her house.
A small smile spread across Leigh-Anne's lips because finally, Violet was getting her karma. And finally, Andre had noticed her.
