"What about this one?" I asked Torrance as I held up a dress. She tilted her head a little as she thought about it, "It's okay, but it isn't anything that will make you stand out."
I put the dress back as I continued to look for another one. I would've been more interested if Harry hadn't have been on my mind. I felt awfully selfish when I asked him to talk to his management about me and him.
I wanted to be the one who could be seen with him, not Lana.
When he was about to tell me that he loved me, it made me wish that we were officially together.
Part of me wondered what were we waiting for? He and Lana weren't really together. We could start dating and then when they "fake broke up" then we could be able to go out in public.
"Earth to, (Y/n)." Torrance told me as she waved one of her hands in my face.
I snapped out of my thoughts, "I'm sorry. I was distracted."
I saw a smirk form on her face, "Is it because of a certain boy that stayed over last night?"
"He is coming back over tonight." I told her.
I heard her gasp as I moved to another rack of dresses, "Really?"
I nodded, "Yeah. He told me that he wanted to. He is supposed to talk to his management today to see if he can get out of the whole fake dating thing."
Torrance gasped again and I couldn't help but laugh, "He is?"
I wasn't going to find any dresses in this store. Torrance and I decided to leave and go to a boutique that was down the block. I slipped on my sunglasses as we walked outside.
I checked my phone to see if Harry had texted me, but nothing. Niall sent me a picture of he and I last night. We looked totally wasted. It had to have been when we were at the club.
I showed Torrance and she laughed.
Niall and I were apparently singing to some song that was on. We had both our hands in the air. I didn't even remember this moment at all.
Suddenly, a notification from Twitter appeared on my screen. I was mentioned in a photo.
Niall posted the photo online!
@NiallOfficial: Just me and @(y/t/n) hangin' out last night.
I was mortified.
"That is epic." Torrance laughed.
I ignored her laughter as we walked into another boutique. This one was way more promising than the last. I grabbed a few dresses that I liked and headed to the dressing room.
On the third dress that I tried, I knew that it was the one. It a black, clingy dress. It had sleeves that were lace and the dress stopped about mid-thigh.
"Let me see!" Torrance told me.
I opened the door and walked over to the mirror.
"That is the dress." Torrance simply said. I loved the way that it hugged my curves perfectly.
"I love this one."
"I'm sure Harry will to." I heard her mumble.
"Torrance!" I laughed before I went back into the dressing room to change.
I put on my clothes and then went to go purchase the dress. I already had heels at home that went with my outfit so I was glad that I didn't have to buy some.
"Have you heard from Harry?" Torrance asked me as we left the boutique.
I shook my head, "No, and it's worrying me. I hope that I didn't get him in trouble."
"What's the worst thing they could do to him? Confiscate all of his flannel shirts?" Torrance laughed. She was always picking on him about his flannel shirts.
When Torrance and I arrived back at our apartment, I went to put my dress in my closet. I grabbed my phone out of my back pocket and texted Harry.
I just made it home if you still want to come over.
A few seconds later, I got a response.
I'll be over soon
-Harry
"Hey, I'm going to go and hang out with some friends tonight to give you and Harry some privacy." Torrance popped her head into my room and told me.
"Thanks. Harry just told me that he will be here soon."
Torrance left to go get ready. I was going to change, but I suddenly didn't feel like it. I brushed my hair a little to make sure that it wasn't terrible. I went to clean a bit, even though it wasn't messy. Torrance was a clean freak.
The doorbell rang and I went to go answer it. Harry was there. He was holding a brown paper bag.
"I brought Chinese." He held it up and I took it.
"Thank you. Come in." I gestured for him to do so. I closed the door once he did and went into the kitchen.
"Did you find a dress?" Harry asked me as he grabbed two plates.
I nodded, "Yeah, I did. It's really beautiful."
"Can I see it?"
"No. You can wait until the party." I laughed.
I heard him groan, "Please?" He came and wrapped his arms around my waist as I was putting rice on our plates.
"No, Harold." He hated when I called him by his full name. I felt him kiss my head softly before he let me go. I heard Torrance's door open and close and her heels coming from the hallway.
"Okay, kids. I'm out of here. Have fun and don't do anything that I wouldn't do." She joked before she left. We both told her bye and Harry and I went to the dining room to eat.
We had small talk while we ate. I was too nervous to ask him how the meeting went.
Harry helped me clean up when dinner was over. I washed the dishes and he put them away.
"You want to go watch a movie?" Harry asked me once we were done.
"Sure." Harry and I walked into the living room and I turned the TV on. We watched some movie that was on. I wasn't really paying attention. It was killing me inside.
"How did the meeting go?" I blurted out when a commercial came on.
Harry looked down at his hands, "It didn't go too well. I have to continue to fake date her at least until her movie comes out."
I took a deep breath, "Okay."
He looked up at me and I could tell that he was a little shocked, "Okay?"
"I have to understand. I felt bad earlier at how selfish I sounded." I explained.
Harry grabbed my hand and laced our fingers together, "You weren't selfish. We just have been waiting so long to be back in this spot again, and the thought of having to wait even longer is frustrating."
"Well, what if we didn't have to?" I suggested.
"What do you mean?"
"What if we just started seeing each other now? We could go public when the whole fake dating thing is over, but for now, we could start things again."
I saw him smile a little, "That would make me so happy."
He leaned down and pressed his lips against mine.
"Will you go out with me again?" Harry asked me.
"I'd love too. The millionth time is the charm." I joked.
Harry scoffed, "It isn't the millionth time!"
I couldn't help but laugh at his expression, "I'm just joking."
"In all seriousness, I'm not going to mess this up again. I've grown up since we last saw each other. I want to spend the rest of my life with you." He told me.
I kissed him again and I knew that he truly meant those words. I didn't feel like I was setting myself up for failure.
