It was the the coldest day of the year.

Snow was already falling from the darkening sky and the Moonshine pack hurriedly prepared for an announced blizzard.

The young  Alpha gave quick orders to his pack, so that before the blizzard hit everything and everyone was taken care of.

A few werewolves were still on patrol to make sure that nothing suspicious was going on at their borders. The young Alpha knew better than anyone to be cautious even in a weather condition like this.

His hands balled into fists just remembering why his beloved father was no longer alive. Just a few months ago his father had held his position, but just in one night everything had changed.

Suddenly pack members appeared in his vision accompanied by one of his warriors. They were running towards the pack house to seek shelter. As the Alpha he stood on the porch waiting for all his pack mates to arrive safely.

The upcoming blizzard was supposed to be a big one, so the Alpha had commanded every pack member to spend the night at the pack house, because it was the most secured one.

"Alpha, we're the last ones!", Peter, one of his warriors, informed him after he had welcomed his pack members and had showed them inside.

They now stood on the porch again and the young Alpha looked into the night sky.

The moon was not visible today, due to all the clouds covering him, which meant that the night seemed even darker.

"Bryan and Coby aren't here yet.", the Alpha told Peter and did not once let his eyes wander from the night sky.

Unsure of what his Alpha's reply meant, Peter stepped closer to him and dared to say: "You seem worried Alpha."

The young Alpha's head snapped quickly to Peter's and only now Peter could see how close his Alpha was from shifting. His usually green eyes were now almost black.

"That's because I am. Something's not right.", the Alpha commented gruffly.

Peter immediately bowed his head in a sign of absolute submission.

The Alpha did not want to be so harsh with his warrior, but his wolf and his gut feeling both told him to be on high alert. The last time this had happened was when his father had been murdered.

The young Alpha could feel his wolf wanting to come out, but he still had enough control to keep him at bay. Nothing would come of the unrational actions and decisions his wolf would make.

All the Alpha knew for now was that a heavy blizzard was supposed to be hitting them soon and therefore his pack needed to be somewhere safe. There was nothing he needed to worry about, but something just did not seem right.

The Alpha could not do anything about this bad feeling he was having and he absolutely hated it. He was not used to waiting, but rather taking control.

The one thing that kept the Alpha on his toes was that two of his best warriors were still on patrol. Even though he had tried to link them, he had received no answer. They should had returned 30 minutes ago.

The Alpha growled in frustration. He did not like to be left out. He prefered to be informed immediately. He needed the control.

Alpha, we have a situation here.

Coby's calm voice sounded in the Alpha's head and the Alpha's shoulders relaxed a bit. Whatever this situation was about at least he knew that both of his warriors were safe.

What's the problem?

Now that the Alpha knew that both of his warriors were alright, he wondered why they had not returned from their patrol.
