Chapter 11 Fight & Flight

Eleven

Fight & Flight

The knife missed my face by an inch but chopped off a lock of my hair. I was defenseless. I had a plan, but it might kill angel. If only she was awake and could put up a force field. Another knife missed my face, but of course hit my arm. I accidently dropped angel and grabbed my arm pulling out the knife and chucking it back at her.

"What a bad plan!" She shouted catching the knife and chucking it back at my other arm. The water was, well filling up with my blood and Angel was still asleep. So, i took the risk and did it.

"Take this!" I shouted feeling the energy welling up inside of me. I focused it on the water. A large bolt of lightning hit the water, and for a split second the water was electrocuted with about 40 volts, a lethal amount but i wasn't hurt at all. Angel wasn't there, I looked up and she was levitating

Apparently her magic had a backup and wanted to protect her. I looked for Reyna and saw her laying in the water, out cold. I swam over and grabbed her and dragged them to shore.

Lots of people where waiting to greet me so i let them. They took Reyna to some sort of jail/hospital. Angel floated towards me and fell, so i caught her.

Once Angel woke up we went to a restaurant and got some food.

"Sorry, I didnt want to go back, I wanted to do something on my own for once!" She shouted nomming on a piece of steak. I laughed.

"See how well that worked out?" I chuckled, she gave me the death glare but we ended up laughing anyways.

"Derek... I don't want to do this anymore..." Angel mumbled. "I want to settle down in a remote place that's safe, and have my own life!" She said with a smile. I nodded knowing were she was coming from.

"Yah, we could get a big cabin in a clearing, in a forest and we all could live there! And have a garden and an orchard!" I said finishing my steak and slurping from my drink. Angel smiled.

"We..." She mumbled her face going red. "Could... You know, get married?" Angel said softly. I was taken surprised. But I nodded anyways.

"Yes, we could," I mumbled.

(Angel's p.o.v)

My heart went all fluttery when he said that. I could see it happening in my head. A beautiful church with a beautiful gown, and Derek in a handsome suit.

"Um.. Angel, I think we should meet up with the rest of the group!" Derek shouted as I finished my steak. I smiled and nodded, so afterwards we met up with the rest of the group.

"Hi! Len, Kaeda, we have to tell you are plans!" Derek shouted grouping the two together and talking to them.

"Lucy... Do you need any help defeating Aries? We are happy to help!" I said to Lucy her face went red and she responded no. So afterwards we got to work on our plans.

Derek went on the house, Len and Kaeda went on furnishing, and I of course found the location. In a few months it was built and placed. A large log cabin in a remote forest.

ONE YEAR LATER

"LEN!" Kaeda shouted running into the house. Her arm had a long cut on it and was bleeding very badly. I rushed over to her trying to heal it but it didn't work for some reason.

"Who did this to you?" Len shouted coaxingly.

"The blood warrior... Jonathan!" She shouted. Len ran into his room to grab his rapier and ran out the door.

"Len! No," I shouted "Kaeda stay here and wrap some bandages on the wound!" I shouted before running after him. I saw him head out to the forest following Kaeda's trail of blood. I of course climbed a tree and followed him on treetop. I readied my sword .This is my chance to purify Jonathan, once and for all. I looked down still following Len and saw he had met Jonathan, they were talking about something.

Now's my chance. I jump off of the tree I'm on and press my sword through his body. I land on the floor, and the shock runs through my body delivering a sharp pain in my heart.

(Derek's p.o.v)

I woke up late, and put on my coat. Today was the day. I grabbed the small box on my dresser and put it in my coat pocket. I strolled into the kitchen to find, the front door opened and Kaeda wrapping bandages around a bloody arm.

"Where is Angel?" I asked, She pointed to the forest and i saw Angel jumping trees. I ran out and went through a path in the forest. I eventually came across Len and Jonathan. Jonathan was talking smack, and before you knew it Len was readying his sword. But...

Angel jumped down and purified Jonathan with her sword. But Len striked stabbing Angel through the heart. I sat there taking in what has happened. Jonathan glows a bright yellow and turns into a kid, starting to cry. Then disappears. Len pulls his sword from Angels body and gasps. Angel hunched over and saw me. I ran over to her and pulled out the box, opened it and put on the lightning stone ring.

"D-d-d-Derek.... I'm so-so-sorry," She smiled and looked up at me. Tears streamed from her eyes. "I--" She was interrupted by well... Death. She started to glow like Jonathan but didn't completely disappear. Instead. She turned into an Angel. But she opened up here pearl wings and flew away waving back at me.

Epilogue

The funeral was held in the Tygeron Chapel. A lovely church with quartz walls and stained glass windows. The building Derek and Angel decided to get married in.

"We are gathered here today to mourn a beautiful young woman, and dear friend." The preacher said passing on the podium to Len.

"That day I didn't know i would commit such a dreaded crime. I'm very sad and sorry that I did it and would take my life if I could undo what i did that day," Len said crying.

Then it was Dereks turn. "My friends, I am sad to say that Angel is dead, she taught us so many things and feelings. Sadness, Anger, Bravery, and love. I wish that instead of mourning we could celebrate our marriage, but she's dead. May she live inside of all of us!" He said choking on certain parts.

Then everyone clapped. Because they realized that when you die, you might leave your friends but you go to a happier place besides earth.
