Nine
Arena
Derek's (p.o.v)
The meal was good but went by fast. Soon we were getting ready for the fight. Angel left.
"Lucy be careful," I said following her.
"I can fight my own battles."
"So, I have to wear this stupid robe?" Kaeda asked me holding a slim white robe. White since she was a girl.
"Yes it helps the healers survive," I said grabbing my sword. Before Angel left the king repaired her sword. My plan was working wonderfully.
"So Lucy, you go for melee with me?" I asked as she tore apart some dummies with her blade.
"I can handle it!" She shouted angrily. A boy walked in the room with a red hat on.
"What is an enemy doing in our base?" I asked walking up to him.
"They gave us an extra chestplate," He said handing it back to me. I put it on. I was worried that they poisoned it or something. Kaeda grabbed her staff and we all got into formation. A loud clock counted down.
"5... 4... 3... 2... 1... GOOOO" The king uproared. I saw as the other teams healer walked out. They were wearing a black robe. A man huh?
"We need to kill their healer first!" Lucy yelled as another teamed charged at her. With one swift move they were dead. "You guys go defend the flag, you guys come with me!" She yelled running into battle.
"Lucy! I need to come with you though!!" I shouted being dragged back by other defenders. She shook her head and raced forward.
"See their healer? Thats Jax he's the only healer known to actually get in the fight. See his cheek? Thats a dragon claw scar!" Len shouted readying his rapier. The healer looked familiar but kept a solemn look on his face. Some guys pulled back their bows and aimed at Kaeda. I ran in front and blocked with my shield. She healed me in return. I grabbed a spear and flung it at the healer.
"Go back!" The captain of the other team yelled, I saw many men dead at Lucy's feet. Then I saw the healer do something I've only saw one person do before. He pulled out his hands and huddled with the defense and captain of the team. He put a large force field around them that penetrated every arrow and spear we shot. One of the offense members slashed at my arm and cut it. I brought down a mace that crushed him to the ground.
"Go long!" The healers voice squeaked on the other side. The sun started to blot out with arrows. We held up out shields around the healer. Lucy raised her hands and the arrows reflected back. Everyone was laying on the ground except the healer. He had a force field protecting only him. Lucy raised up her hand and the audience cheered.
"Wait! They aren't yet defeated!" The king shouted. He pointed to the healer. "Obliterate him and you shall receive your prize!" Lucy raced toward him at what seemed like light speed. She slashed her sword against the field and pushed. The he pulled out his own blade and clashed with hers. She took a step back and called for the archers. I grabbed a bow trying to help and shot an arrow. He deflected the arrows with a force field and slashed Lucy. She fell down and dropped her sword. She yanked on the cape's bottom. He, was Angel.
Angel's (p.o.v)
Something wasn't right about Lucy. She took damage from my sword.
"Ah, so... I see you're at the end of the line!" She shouts standing up. I see Derek and the others in shock.
"Not necessarily!" I shout hitting her shoulder with my sword. She cringes and punches me in the gut. I fell to my knees and covered my ears. I heard loud screeching inside of my head. Visions flashed by quickly. I opened my eyes slightly and saw as Lucy lunged her sword. Everything went black.
"Am I dead?" I muttered. No reply.
"I said, am I dead!!??" I asked trying to regain consciousness. Everything started to reveal itself to me. Derek was carrying me and running around the arena. I perk up my head. Lucy was after us. I was weak and my shoulders throbbed. I grabbed the strength left in me and surged it through Derek he speeded up and gave me a weak smile. As we came to turn back to the other side of the arena the king stood up and halted us.
"What is this?" He asked pointing at Lucy.
"A death arena?" Lucy shouts stopping. She had a sarcastic look on her face and laughed.
"Why is Derek rescuing an enemy?" He grumbled.
"It's a big misunderstanding!!" He shouted. From then on everything went blurry. I heard lots of shouting. Derek flung me onto the floor and picked up a sword. He raised it. I prepared for the worse.
Ting. I sit up and look around me. Ting. Everything was white. I was in a large soft bed. Ting. I noticed a small chime hanging in the window making a sound like. Ting. I got up and was dressed in a long white gown. I walked out the open door and looked out. Ting. The beach's sand was warm under my toes and the smell was unlike any other. I noticed a boy sitting on a towel. Ting. He looked about seven with blonde hair and blue eyes.
"Brother?" I called out running toward him. He looked up at me with a smile. "Am... I?"
"Sister?" He asked standing up. He was smaller than me but still somewhat more mature. He hugged me. He was about the age of when he got possessed. Perhaps he's the boy truly inside?
"Why am I here?" I asked looking around.
"Because, you needed to be saved!" He said seriously.
"I'm not... Dead?" I asked dumbfounded.
"No, just brought here to learn the future."
"What? How am i going to do that?" I asked worried.
"Well, you should know that I will be brought to my former glory by you, and that Derek will not marry Lucy!" He said happily. I blushed.
"Good, but what do you mean by former glory?" I asked.
"Well... Former and glory, you'll see." He smiled.
"Wait so am I imagining this or am I really dead?" I asked trying to piece it together.
"Ha, your just imagining this!" He cackled as my dream swirled away.
