Chapter 3: The Chase Is On

  Sorry for taking so long to update,but I'm back! Also, I have a big announcement to make at the end of this chapter, you guys might not be so happy about it but it has to be done. So for now, enjoy.

British Institute of Technology  

Eggsy and Tequila were sitting in a small office for about five minutes when a young woman entered the room.

"Sorry to keep you waiting gentleman," She said as she sat down, "I'm Dr. Lindsey Tatum, but you can just call me Lindsey."

"Nice to meet you," Eggsy said, "I'm Eggsy, and this is my partner, Tequila."

"Eggsy and Tequila?"

"Well they're really nicknames we go by," Tequila explained.

"Oh ok, so, what can I help you with?"

"Well, we were hoping you could tell us about Hackers Delight," Eggsy explained, "We heard that this could possibly be used to hack into a missile."

"Oh well, from what she's told me, Hackers Delight can go into any microchip, be it, computer, cell phone, or as you said missile. It goes through the wires and mechanics and finds its way into the microchip. Once it's in, whatever the device is, it's basically a puppet."

"So if someone wanted to get their hands on it," Eggsy started.

"Then they must be plannin' somethin' major," Tequila finished.

"Well, now that you mention it," Lindsey started, "Some big buff guy came in here last week and offered her a job, but she refused. And said he would be back... I guess he got her."

"Well don't worry," Eggsy said, trying to comfort the young assistant, "We'll find her."

"Do you think, maybe, you can identify this fella?" Tequila asked.

"Of course, I'd be hap-" she was cut off by the sound of the glass window behind her breaking and a sudden itch on the back of her left shoulder.

As she looked down at her shoulder, she saw a spreading red stain and fainted. The two agents jumped around the desk, Tequila cradled the young doctor and immediately contacted Merlin through his glasses.

"Merlin, we need an ambulance at the university, now!"

"Already on they're way," Merlin replied, "Do you eyes on the shooter?"

Eggsy looked out the window in every direction until he saw a shadowy figure chases across the roof on the other side of the university.

"I'm in pursuit," Eggsy confirmed.

Up On The Roof

Eggsy burst out of a door the led to the roof and looked around. Almost instantly, he saw the shadowy figure running. As he did, Eggsy noticed a red fox on the sniper's right shoulder and long reddish-brown hair.

'The Red Fox!' Eggsy thought, and immediately started to chase her.

The two ran across the roof, all the way to the end until The Red Fox came to a stop. Looking around, she realized that she was cornered. She turned around to see Eggsy still running towards her until he jumped off of a ventilator turbine, and brought down a punch. But she blocked and countered with a kick to the stomach which caused Eggsy to fly back and land with a thud.

Looking up, he saw her jump into the air with a fist just like Eggsy did earlier. Before she brought the fist down on him, He rolled to the left quickly, kicked her in the side and jumped back up. When he was fully standing, he tried to kick her again as she was still on the ground but she caught his ankle, jumped up to her feet and pushed him away by his shoe.

When he turned around, he saw that she was pulling back to deliver a punch to his stomach area. He readied himself in a stance and blinked. But as he opened his eyes from the blink, he saw his best mate, Roxy. Alive and smiling right in front of him. She was there until he blinked again and saw Red Fox before feeling a shock of pain on his stomach.

Before he knew it, he was laying on the ground with his eyes closed tight. When he opened his eyes, he saw the redhead sniper standing above him with an AK47 rifle slung over her shoulder. She let a chuckle that was muffled by the mask and walked off leaving Eggsy lying on the ground, clutching his stomach.

Kingsman HQ, Infirmary

Eggsy, Tequila, Harry, and Merlin stood silently at the foot of a bed which had Lindsey Tatum who was currently sleeping. Fortunately, they got her to the HQ quickly so she didn't bleed to death, also the bullet didn't hit anything serious. But they still felt responsible for this, mainly Eggsy.

"Eggsy," Merlin said breaking the silence, "Tell us about the sniper, was it the Red Fox?"

"Yeah," He replied, "She was fast, tough, completely beat the sh** outta me."

"Yeah, but at least you made it back in one piece and Lindsey here's gonna be OK," Tequila said trying to cheer his partner up, "Plus you did the best I could."

"Yeah, but that's the thing. I could've beaten her, but I didn't, I choked up! My brain is f**ked because I can't stop thinking of Roxy! I was  daydreaming when I was supposed to be fighting, and THAT is why I lost and let that f**ka go!"

"Eggsy, you can't keep blaming yourself for what happened to Roxy," Harry said putting a comforting hand on Eggsy's shoulder, "All we can do is  look at our troubles in the past and use them to help us in the future."

Eggsy knew Harry was right, but he was just too blinded by guilt and sadness.

"I'm sorry guys, but I can't right now." He said, walking away, "I'm going home, I'll see you later."

Eggsy left his friends standing there, feeling sorry for their colleague, hoping that he would feel better soon.

*****************************************************************************Wow! Poor Eggsy, don't worry he'll be OK. Hope you guys enjoyed reading this it was both hard and emotional for me to write this but I knew it would be good. Now for my big announcement, I have decided to make 8 more stories and then I'm done. Maybe I'll come back after them or maybe not, I really don't know. But that won't be for a while so... Later!
