"Bill, it's okay. Everything going to be okay." Stan said calmly.

"No, S-Stan! I-it's not g-going to be o-okay! W-what makes you thi-think any of this is f-fucking okay? My-my bro-brother i-is dea....d-dead, and it's all m-my f-fucking fault." Bill cried, his stutter even worse than usual. Tears were streaming down his face, and his voice was shaking from the tears. "I-if wasn't for me, G-Georgie would b-be ok-okay. H-He'd be here. So s-stop f-fucking ly-lying to m-me!"

Stan had never been good at comforting people. What do you do? Tell them to hush and it'll all be fine? Agree with them that things are shit? He just wanted to hold him in his arms and tell him that it was all going to be okay. So after a moment of hesitation, that's exactly what he did.

Stan pulled Bill into a hug, letting him cry into his chest for a moment. He began playing with the smaller boys hair, and it made Bill a little bit better.

Bill pulled away from him for a second and looked down at the ground for a moment. Stan pulled his head up by his chin. Bill tried to nudge away for a second before he met Stan's eyes. Something about them made him not want to look away.

"Bill, this isn't your fault. You didn't do anything wrong. There's nothing you could've done to avoid what happened, and you've just got to try and accept that, okay?" Stan grabbed his hand and intertwined their fingers. "I'll be here with you through it all."

Both boys got lost in the eyes of the other for a moment. Life felt like it was falling to pieces, crumbling all around them like an avalanche of grief and sorrow, but Bill Denbrough looked into Stanley Uris' eyes, and he forgot all about it. He allowed himself to forget. He stopped thinking about Georgie, he stopped thinking about his parents nearly forgetting about him, he allowed everything to slip out of his grasp for a moment because Stanley Uris was sitting across from him, looking at him with puppy dog eyes.

Stan looked away. "Sorry, that was lame. I'm not that great at comforting people."

"No, T-thank you, Stan. I r-really needed to h-hear that." They sat in silence again, still holding hands.

"You know that I'll be here for you no matter what, right?" Stan announced.

"I d-do. Thanks for that." Bill replied. He looked at Stan again.

They were now staring again. Couldn't tear their eyes away. They were now staring at each other. They were so close to each other, yet so far away. All they wanted was to be closer, closer, closer.

Bill decided he couldn't take it anymore and closed the gap between them. He heard Stan gasp at the suddenness, but then he relaxed. Bill couldn't believe it, he was kissing Stanley Uris, and he was kissing him back? They both pulled away.

"Ahh, the things you do to me."
