"I don't understand why you have to leave." Stanley Uris said to Bill Denbrough, who was packing some of his things in a suitcase across from him. "I don't wanna leave either, but my parents think it will be good for me. To be somewhere else. Plus there's too many memories of Georgie." Bill said, wiping some of the red hair from his face. "Can't I just go with you?" Stan whined, his eyes like a child trying to convince their mother to buy them candy. "No, you can't." Bill laughed, the other boy sighing, making him laugh harder. "Are we still gonna keep in touch at least?" Stan asked, Bill shrugged in response. "What's wrong?" Stan asked again. "Nothing is wrong, okay?" Bill shouted, and when Stan gave him a look saying I know that's not true, he sighed and said "Maybe I just don't want to think about the fact that I'll be gone from Derry in a couple hours, leaving everything I know behind and not being able to look back." A shrill silence pierced the air before Stan spoke up and said "So this really is goodbye then." Bill nodded. "You won't forget me, right? Because I won't forget you." The brunette boy shook his head, making Bill faintly smile. "I'm gonna miss you." Stan sniffled, wiping his nose with the back of his hand, tears faintly stinging is eyes. All Bill did was smile again, before stepping over to Stan and kissing him. The other boy felt a tear go down his cheek, before the redhead pulled apart, pressing their foreheads together a moment. "I'll write." Bill said, before heading out the door, bags in hand.
Little did Stan know, Bill never did write. He lived in some faraway place, where he grew up and married a beautiful woman named Audra. Stan spent most of his days waiting by the mailbox, anxiously waiting for the arrival of something from the boy, sadness overwhelming him when nothing ever did come. Eventually, Stan grew tired of waiting for something that would never come, and his memories of Bill began to fade. All but what. The day Bill kissed Stan. The day Bill kissed Stan was the last they ever saw each other.
