Another night at the bar, another shot, another drabble to yourself about something idiotic, and another tear somehow escaping your eyes.

He did this to you; your ex, that is. He dumped you right in front of the whole bar really, and it was over you wanting to live your dream of being an accompanist! He knew how much it meant to you and how much money it would make you, so why was he so opposed to it? Nevertheless, the whole bar witnessed the fight go down, ending with him storming out the door and you sitting back down at the bar with tears streaming down your face.

"Sorry about that, pal. You look rough. Drinks are on the house, okay?" The bartender spoke up to you. "Thanks." You sighed, the short girl taking your now empty glass and going over to wash it.

"Was the fight really that bad?" You heard a deep, raspy voice call from beside you. You looked over to meet eyes with the owner of the voice. That's when it hit you, you knew right when he spoke the voice sounded familiar! It was Murdoc Niccals!

"Murdoc?" You squinted your eyes, thinking somebody probably spiked your drink now and you were just hallucinating.

"The one and only." He flaunted with his iconic smirk, taking a sip from his glass of what you guessed was rum.

You shook your head. "It was just about career stuff." You shrugged, the bartender handing you back the shot glass once it was clean and refilled. "Career stuff? Well then carry on, darlin'. I'd love to hear." He adjusted himself to where he could rest his elbow on the bar, ready to pay attention. You couldn't tell if he was genuinely interested or was just looking for a bird to pick up and take home for the night. Either way, you were too drunk and before you knew it you were letting the floodgates open.

"I want to join a band as an accompanist, I always have. When I met my now ex, he told me he didn't mind as long as I didn't let it consume me. I don't know what happened but he ended up screaming so I ended up screaming too. He just doesn't understand how much music and instruments mean to me, and I feel like if the relationship carried on any longer he would've forced me into a desk job anyways." You explained, slurring here and there from your drunken state, but you had enough sense still in you to compose yourself. You were in the face of the bassist of a band that just made the biggest comeback of 2017, you would've forced to compose yourself anyways even if you didn't have any sense in you.

"Well, he's over with. Ain't 'e?" Murdoc asked, taking another sip of his rum as I downed my shot.

You nodded. Just then the realization hit you. You were over with him, that relationship you had been building up for so long only for it to come falling down on you all over again. How could you have let this happen? Was your career really worth jeopardizing your love? You guess it was too late to turn back now. You definitely weren't gonna go crawling back to him. But before you could take a breath in tears were already streaming down your cheeks again, going one after the other as you repressed a sob. What was happening to you? You were never this way with any other break-up.

"Aw c'mon luv don't cry." Murdoc scooted closer to try to hide you from wandering eyes. "I'm sure he was a jerk anyway! 'Specially if he just wanted you to trash your dream like that for him." Murdoc assured you, cautiously putting his hand on your back. You could tell he was bad at this comforting stuff, but he was trying. Maybe the help was genuine.

"I just wanna go home." You whined in a cracked voice. Now the drunkness was setting in, making you feel carefree. The feeling still lingered heavily though, you just didn't care what you said anymore.
