[[If you haven't read The Afterglow from my old account computerh3ad then i suggest you do. It's only five chapters and you'll need it to understand the lore of this book!]]

You woke up the next morning alone, sighing a sad sigh. You thought maybe he would actually stay for some reason, but then you rethought and knew that just didn't sound like Murdoc.

You made your way to the bathroom to freshen up and fix yourself for work. You swore if Murdoc didn't come to see you by sundown you were gonna destroy every bass he owns. Of course, you were joking, you would never do that to Murdoc considering some of the things he went through to get some of those basses. But you would be determined to get revenge!

You clocked into the coffee shop, being the first one there. Marilyn usually showed up 30 minutes after you, and the other workers slowly followed after.

You couldn't get your mind off of Murdoc. No matter how many times you tried to concentrate on the music pumping through your earbuds, or talking to the regular customers that stopped by. The sun was already lowering in the sky and you were becoming worried, what if he was with another girl and forgot about you? What if he's lost his interest in you and doesn't want to progress the relationship?

A million thoughts whirled through your head, making you zone out.

"Hey, dreamer girl!" Marilyn snapped her fingers in front of you, pulling you back to reality.

"Are you spending the night in here or not?" Marilyn joked, holding the door open for you. She already closed up shop without you? That's unusual for Marilyn to do.

You chuckled, walking out the door to see the sun slowly setting over the city buildings. You frowned in disappointment, it was sundown, and still no Murdoc.

"Waiting for musty man or somethin'?" Marilyn asked, slouching into an outside chair again.

"No, he was supposed to come see me before sundown." You explained, looking both ways down the road in hopes of Murdoc's cherry red Cadillac speeding around a curve to come swoop you away.

Nothing.

"I would go to his house and wreck the place," Marilyn suggested with a shrug. "go psycho." She giggled.

You sighed irritably, Marilyn wasn't helping the situation.

"Just go to his house, dude! Maybe he just forgot. He's 51 give 'em a break." Marilyn stood up, car keys in hand.

"I'm still pissed." You muttered, you didn't feel like saying anything else. You just waved at Marilyn without turning around the look at her, going to the nearest bus stop.

You waited for the bus while listening to some random music on your playlist, boarding the bus that was traveling to the side of Brooklyn Murdoc lived in, sitting in silence. A fiery hue colored your eyes, turning them a darker shade of e/c.

Meanwhile, Marilyn was laughing as she sat in her car, calling Murdoc.

"What?" Murdoc growled, clearly being woken up from some type of sleep.

"She's mega mad, Muddz." Marilyn giggled, plugging up her phone to the aux cord.

"Sweet satan I forgot!" Murdoc exclaimed, a loud shuffling and couple of banging and running could be heard from the other side of the line.

"Ah, typical Murdoc." Marilyn smirked, hanging up the phone to let him set up. Her smile slowly faded, gently resting her head on the steering wheel. All these years she's watched her friends come and go through Murdoc without a word, and now that she's finally getting settled she decided to fall for him? Real smart, Marilyn.

Nevertheless, she sat up, turning the key that was placed in the ignition of her jeep with a small mutter.

"I will never be satisfied."

Meanwhile, you were marching up to the doorstep of Murdoc's house to gice a firm knock. It was Russel who answered the door, giving a good laugh. "Y/N! You here to ditch that poor bastard upstairs?" He joked, making you smile a bit yourself.

"It's a possibility." You chuckled, you and Russel sharing a high five. Russel was just one of those guys you never actually got to know but you were friends anyways. It was the start of a good friendship.

He let you in, watching you go up the stairs and almost bust Murdoc's door down.

"Murdoc Faust Niccals I swear to gOD-" You cut yourself off with a gasp, your mouth hanging wide open.

You took a look around. The whole room was draped in thin f/c curtains, f/music artist played low in from a record player and murdoc sat on his bed surrounded by all of your favorite snacks.

"You're late to the party." Murdoc simply smirked, wearing a black tanktop and slim jeans that fit him well with black socks. His bangs were pushed back by a red head band which made him all the more sexier than you would like to think.

"Murdoc I-I- Shhh I know, come join me." He interrupted your stuttering.

You inched over to the bed, sitting down beside him on the pillows that were propped to were you could sit up right and enjoy the snacks that were laid out on a bed tray.

"Ah! I almost forgot." Murdoc exclaimed, leaning over to reach down to the ground and pull up some f/flowers.

"Murdoc! You shouldn't've done this all for me!" You blushed, accepting the flowers and taking in a small inhale to get a good whiff of the flowers.

"What can I say? I'm a bit of an overachiever." He traced invisble lines up your arm.

"Where did you find out all of my favorite stuff?" You questioned, taking a piece of f/snack and popping it into your mouth.

"Who do you think?" Murdoc smiled.

"Marilyn." Your rolled your eyes with a smile, shifting to get comfier.

"Yeh, we planned this out." Murdoc explained. "She helped me with all your likings."

You nodded. "Well I'm so glad, thank you." You set the flowers down carefully on the nightstand beside you before rolling over and wrapping your arms around Murdoc in a tight embrace.

Murdoc was taken back a bit by it, but accepted the hug soon after. He wrapped his arms back around you, kissing your head contently and sighed out.

"No problem, luv."

Meanwhile, a mysterious girl sat outside of the closed Detroit Coffee Shop. A cigarette lit in her hand.

"Murdoc Niccals. I never expected Detroit to be your type of place." She spoke to herself, taking in her surroundings.

"Guess we'e both changed a lot, yeah? Saw you with that girl a couple days ago, she looked like a nice one." She kept speaking to the air infront of her as if she was speaking to the man himself.

"To bad she'll be gone within a couple weeks." She faked a pout, standing up from her chair and starting to walk.

"I'm still alive in you."
