1. Invincible

Baekhyun's POV

The one thing I desired the most was to have the ability to stay awake forever. To never have the need for sleep.

I was tired of meeting the imagine of the bodies of my dead mother and father.

The image of a man I they trusted as he stooped above their bodies with a sadistic grin before he lit a match and threw it on their bodies.

The fire instantly spreading not giving me the chance to see them one more time before they turn into ashes.

I was as good as dead considering the wooden stake in my chest but luckily for me my uncle's  henchman had terrible aim.

After painfully pulling out the stake and dragging my body out of the only place I could call home, I watched it all fall apart right before my eyes.

I was only five years old at the time but luckily I had the mentality of someone older.

I knew that there was no place for me anymore and I was on my own. I could trust no one but myself and that's how I would survive.

I opened my eyes regretting ever closing them in the first place. It was the same every night. I relieved my childhood nightmares every single day.

I wish I could just lose my memories but fate wouldn't allow it. This was my punishment for ever being born. For being born a pure blood prince of vampires.

A tittle that means nothing to me anymore.

I'm just like any other human being I bump into by the street. No one knows what I truly am and that's the only way I can survive.

I was different from other vampires which would make me stand out. I cant risk my uncle knowing I'm alive or it will be the end for me.

"Baek, get up. We just got called in," Luhan called me and I immediately got up and got ready.

I considered Luhan as a friends. I did not tell him all my truths but he was the only person I could say I trusted the most. Even if it was only 5% trust.

The closer a person gets to you the more painful it will be if they betray you. I meant that the hard way and would not repeat it.

As soon. As I was done I entered Luhan's room to check up on him.

He usually took his time getting ready and I would have to drag him out.

If anyone else entered his room they would think they were in a different world.

Luhan was human until he made a decision that changed his life forever.

He was dying of cancer but he wasn't ready to take his last breath. That's when Cyrus approached him. He offered him a way to survive and Luhan didn't hesitate to take it.

But you know every decision has its consequences. Luhan agreed to be part of an experiment to create superhuman. A decision him and many others regret today.

He was one of the few who survived but came out with a unique but devastating ability.

He became immune to all poisoned, toxins and diseases but he has also become poisonous to everyone else.

Another after effect of this ability is that nature can't help but grow all around him.

His room basically looks like a flower garden which matches well with his feminine like beauty and hair that constantly changes colors. At that moment he had purple hair.

Sitting in front of his mirror touching up on his makeup I stood behind him.

"Don't look so grim Baek, I'm done," he said as he stood up and we were on our way to headquarters.

Cyrus didn't just create superhuman but he had an organization filled with them.

We were trained and sent on missions. He told us we only assassinated and stole for good but I wasn't so sure about that, but this was home and the best way for me to survive. 

We went straight to the lab where Cyrus was waiting for us.

We met up with Kai and Suho along the way.

Suho killed someone by mistake but everyone thought otherwise. He was sentenced to life in prison but Cyrus got him out of it if he agreed to join the others.

Not wanting to spend his whole life in prison he agreed. He survived the experiment with the ability to turn invisible.

He still has trouble controlling his power and can be invisible for days. Luckily today he was alright.

Kai on the other hand says he doesn't remember how he ended up here. He just woke up in the lab with no memories.

He has the ability to disintegrate into smoke and reanimate himself. He was kind of crazy but don't tell him that to his face.

The after effects of Kai's abilities are quite strange. They created 2 versions of himself. There is the Kai we all see and his shadow which is separated from his body.

We call his shadow Jongin and he will usually be lurking nearby hidden somewhere.

"How many times do I have to tell you you don't have your own say. When I tell you to do something do it or else you can say goodbye to your family" I heard Cyrus speak as we approached the lab.

This was because of my superhearing. No one else could have caught on it and I think that's why he is freely speaking.

As I said before I live hiding my true nature. An ability I'm thankful for. Not even other supernaturals can sniff out my scent because the ability allows me to change it completely.  I'm basically human right now.

I only revealed my speed and strength and that's what got me in. I lied about how I acquired  the abilities but Cyrus never really questioned me.

"I'm sorry sir. Please don't hurt my family. I will do anything you want." I heard Lay beg and I hated it.

Lay was head scientist here. He was human but was very good at what he does. I always wondered why he worked for Cyrus and now I knew he was being blackmailed.

"You're no different from these freaks who mindlessly follow my lead. The only difference is you know we are the bad guys. So don't play around Lay. Stop trying to make cures for them and stick to your job. Actually just to show you how serious I am, let me just kill one member of your family," Cyrus said.

"Nooo....!!" The next thing I heard were glasses breaking before I heard a gunshot. Lay must have fought.

"Lay is in danger," I said as I ran ahead and everyone tried to keep up with me.

I slammed the door open to find Lay on the ground clutching his bleeding arm. Cyrus standing over him with a gun pointed to his head.

"Stop!" I shouted as I rushed towards them.

I might not trust a lot of people but Lay, Luhan, Suho and Kai I considered as friends.

Lay was a good guy and I wasn't going to allow Cyrus to kill him.

I realized too late the gun was pouted to my head as Cyrus pulled the trigger the bullet going right through my skull as everything went blank.
