Baekhyun couldn't breathe. He tried to, he knew how to, but his body wasnt cooperating. He could feel the tears flowing down his eyes and his nightmares flashed before his eyes. He couldn't hear anything but the crackle of the flames that consumed his parents.
"What's happening to him?" Cheol asked with a panicked voice.
"Baek baby can you hear me. Breathe baby please breathe" Yeol sounded like he was desperate.
"He is having a panic attack" Chan said as he held Baekhyun as his eyes rolled back. He was clearly now going through a seizure but he suddenly went limp in his arms.
"WHAT HAPPENED?" Cheol and Yeol shouted at the same time.
"I'm sorry. I had to put him to sleep" Chan said with a distressed look but that wasn't the reason he was stressed. Soon Baekhyun was in the pack hospital.
"Everything seems to be normal. For now he is just sleeping. I will come back and check on him later. I need to speak to him when he wakes up" Xuimin the pack doctor said before leaving the room. Cheol sat on his left holding his hand while Yeol was on the right. Chan stood a distance away leaning against the wall with a distressed look on his face.
"Chan tell us what's wrong?" Cheol said giving him a serious look. Chan looked away before taking a deep breath. He didn't want his brothers to see the tears in his eyes. When he held Baek in his arms he had to go through the depths of his mind to make him go to sleep. This meant he saw everything. The memories Baek wasn't ready to share with them. At first he wondered why Baek was hiding his scent when they were by the boarder and now he fully understood.
"Remember the story we heard of how the vampire king took the throne?" He started.
"Yes. He killed his own brother, his mate and child. The true king and his heir" Yeol responded disgusted by a man who would kill his own family for power.
"Well...there was one survivor... Their son" Chan said turning his attention to their mate who slept peacefully in the bed but he knew he was far from feeling any peace in his heart.
Cheol and Yeol immediately understood in shock as they turned to look at their mate.
"His been on his own since he was 5 years old because his uncle killed his parents. The same man we saw today" Cheol said.
"Baekhyun is the true true ruler of the vampires. He is the one meant to be King. Not that asshole" Yeol said in anger.
Before they could say another word Taehyung barged into the room unannounced.
"What happened? Is he okay?" He said as he rushed to the bed his mate entering the room.
"I'm sorry alphas I tried to stop him" Hoseok said breathless. It was obvious he had been chasing his mate for a while.
"Oh thank goodness his fine. He can't die without taking back his birthright" Taehyung said.
"You knew?" Cheol asked.
"Yes. Long story short, we were friends as kids until his dad flipped and almost killed me but his mom saved my butt but I wasn't allowed to play with him anymore. I heard that bastard came and threatened the pack. Either way in on the side on the true heir and I know a lot of vampires who will help us out as well because their loyalty is to their true king" he explained.
"I guess we have to prepare for war because I'm sure as hell not going to give up to that snake" Cheol said.
"This is not about just protecting the pack but we also have to reclaim our mates throne"
