Epiglogue-
"I do," I spoke.
The preacher bellowed, "I now present to you Mr. and Mrs. Jake Bruckner. You may now kiss the bride!" I ignored the loud erruption of noise as Jake and my lips crashed together. It was the perfect wedding. It was so classicaly chic, but it was on the beach.
We finally pulled apart, "I love you," Jake said at the same time as I said the exact same thing. We clapsed each other's hands and faced the gathering of our friends. Delaney and Matthew - together, Braydon with his new "fling". But I knew it was more than that.
Everyone looked so happy. The smile on my mom's face reminded me of the smile she wore when I won Nationals four years ago. Now Jake and I were in our third year of college and married. We shared an apartment a little ways off campus.
I looked to the back where my dad was with his new girlfriend, I gave him a nod of acknowledgement. I've grown up and realized I should at least hear him out - which I did. I still haven't fully forgiven him, but I forgave him enough to invite him to my wedding.
Everyone was happy as can be, and I wanted things to stay like this forever, no matter how hard things get. I know it's Jake and I against the world, and we're ready. We don't know what's coming, but we do know it'll be worth it.
Because if you don't fight for things, there's a lost fight somewhere. There's always at least one person in every situation who fights for what they believe in, and for what they love. For what they deserve. In Jake and I's situatuion, there's two fighters.
I'll always keep this in mind, because it came true for me; If you fight for what you love, and they fight too, you'll always, in the end, get your fairy tale ending.
