Malias pov:

"On your left Sam." The short little line that would send the mocha skinned male absolutely mad and cause him to push himself further. It was early morning and the mist was just lifting from the Washington memorial park. On this particular morning no one would have suspected that in the early morning light were four of S.H.I.E.L.D.s finest where having an early morning jog. Well, thats what Sam insisted on call us. Shaking my head as I watched Sam have his little freak out from behind, I caught the smirk that was now playing on the ex-Winter Soldier's lips. Glancing to my side I kept pace with the brunette as he upped his running speed. We had already passed Sam more than a half dozen times and Bucky wanted to remind him of that fact as we came alongside him. "On your right." Was the only think I heard as I passed Sam on his left side and Bucky on his right, meaning I should really speed up if I wanted to avoid getting an ear full from Sam. As I increased my speed I listened to the whining voice of Sam fade out to nothing as myself and Bucky ran too meet up with Steve, who like always was about half a lap in front of myself and Bucky. Slowing to a stop beside the two super soldiers, I high-fived Bucky before resting my hands on my hips taking a few deep breaths. Coming over to stand beside me, Steve placed a gentle hand onto my now sagging shoulders. "Here. You did really well this morning." Steve told me softly while handing me the clear water bottle, as he handed another to Bucky.
A slow clap brought my attention from what Steve was saying back towards Bucky, who was standing over Sam who had fallen in a heap just in front of where we sat. Smirking at the exhausted man I couldn't help but laugh when he groaned and made a pitiful attempt to swipe at the man who stood mockingly above him. Sitting himself up against the tree next to where I sat, I could see how red Sam had turned from running. "How do you do that? Like your eighteen and can keep up with these two, who are super soldiers. You don't even break a proper sweat!" Sam panted out as he poured the contents of this water bottle over his red face, causing me to laugh at him once again. Shrugging my shoulders in response I pushed myself up off the cool ground and went to stand by Bucky who was standing off to one side. Reaching out his fist casually I smirked slightly as I returned the fist bump while looking over the quiet park. It was so peaceful this early in the morning the city was still waking from its slumber and soon would buzz with life again. Tapping his foot slightly Bucky had turned back towards where Sam and Steve where sat having a conversation, before turning back to myself with a questioning glance. "Hey Steve! I'm going to head back to the tower now. Are you going to come with me, Malia?" The metal armed man stated as he slowly started walking away without even waiting for any of us to reply. Turning to Steve I gave a quick shrug before jogging after the retreating figure of the super soldier. "Bucky wait up!" I shouted out to the man's back as I caught up with him, stepping into pace beside my close friend. We continued to make our way back towards the Avengers tower, where everyone was staying at the moment. Everyone quite often moved between Avengers tower, their own homes and the avengers base that shield had set up after the Ultron incident. A comfortable silence had fallen over myself and Bucky as we walked towards home in the early morning light, that was one of the best things about Bucky we could just sit in silence doing our own thing enjoying each other's company. Out of everyone who I had come to call family I was especially close to the ex-Hydra experiment, Bucky was the person I trusted most and I could go to him with things I felt I couldn't go to anyone else about. He understood things that the other members of the team could only begin too. When I needed him too be, Bucky could be my best friend or that fun family friend who has all the horrible ideas but still gets trusted with you but he also knew when to just let me talk to him. Too have a good bitch about something or just blubber incoherent nonsense because I was too upset to speech clearly. Bucky would always be there when I needed him and in return I would try to do the same. It was out secret really, yes, the others knew that we were close but they didn't necessarily know the details behind it.

Getting back to the tower was easy enough and getting back into the building was easy too. It was just once we were back inside the tower that things became difficult, for me anyway. As it was still the first week of the holidays Peter was desperate to cram as much into everyday as possible. I was too but with just now properly starting my training I couldn't help but let myself start thinking about it. "Good Morning." Peter stated plainly as I took a seat at the large marble breakfast bar beside the slightly older teen. Giving a quick smile, I continued sipping on my fruit smoothie while scrolling through my phone. Twitter was going slightly wild because some photos of the team had been leaked, thankfully all of them had their masks on of faces weren't visible or Fury would have quite a bit of cleaning up to do. Fury had some cleaning up to do anyway because of the pictures but it was much less than it could have been. Sensing a presence leaning over my shoulder I glanced behind me too see it was just Vision. "Morning V." I said casually not bothered about him reading over my shoulder, it was something he just did and something everyone was very used to. Said man jumped slightly at hearing my words causing a small smirk to appear on both mine and peters faces. Despite being this super advanced and intelligent humanoid, he acted like just a normal person which was freaking when you saw the contrast between the two. Not saying a word Vision walked around the breakfast bar over towards the balcony doors. "Okay that was weird, even for Vision." Peter broke the awkward silence that had built up as Vision had left the room, causing me to look from the balcony doors. Vision was weird, he didn't seem to understand a lot about being human and lots of his social skills weren't great, but he had begun starting to act stranger and stranger. Shrugging my shoulders, I turned back to my phone at the sound of the text tone. Smiling at the text message on the screen I turned to Peter just as exited the elevator. Coming straight over to where myself and peter were sat. Quickly the two fell into a conversation, about god only knows what.
Rising from my seat I left the two boys and their idiotic conversation. Sometimes I really loved hanging out with them and we were best friends, but oh my god they were idiots sometimes.  Rubbing my temples as the elevator doors closed I slumped back against the back wall, I was not in the right frame of mind to deal with the two right now. Seeking some peace, I had FRIDAY see if anyone was on the roof right now. Thankfully there was no one up there for now so I could have some time to myself for a bit, until someone came to find me. Stepping out from the elevator I walked across the rooftop of the tower towards my usual spot. It was where I came to if I needed to be alone and everyone knew this meaning I was able to be alone when I need to be.

Seating myself with my back leaning against the other part of the roof that was raised slightly I looked up at the sky. It was a typical summers day. The sky was a soft blue with very little cloud cover meaning the sun could shine brightly with nothing blocking its path. Sighing contently, I stretched out my legs and thought about the last time I had come up here. It was a few weeks ago, maybe a month, and my father had become really angry at me for reasons unknown to me and I had come up here in tears. That wasn't the unusual thing about what happened. As I sat with tears streaming down my face I felt like someone had placed a comforting hand onto my shoulder causing me to look behind me. I found no one on the rooftop with me, but where a person should have been standing I found instead a small silver charm. It was like one you would get on a charm bracelet, and in now hung from the silver chain that I kept round my wrist just like the few other charms that had mysteriously turned up on the rooftop. Everyone in the team knew about these mysterious charms that turned up from time to time, everyone but my father. He found one of the charms before and nearly bit my head off about it. Something about them he didn't like and he destroyed the one he found while myself and the others watched him. Everyone else never told him about all the other charms or about the other things that would turn up, they seemed to know I needed these things and they knew why my father despised them. I knew the reason as well, but I would never let on that I did. It would only get the other team members into trouble with my father and I would lose everything I had collected over the years.

The new charm that now hung from my chain was almost transparent. It looked as if it was made of glass or crystal but I couldn't quite tell. The charm its self was small delicate looking flower that I recognised but could not place where I had seen it before. It like many of the other charms I had were familiar to me but I could never know where I had seen them before. These charms and trinkets held the key to the other place I came from and were the only thing linking me to it. My father was never going to let me find who I am, who I was supposed to be, so I would have to do it on my own with only my trinkets to guide me.
