Chapter Four

Malias Pov-

Walking along the quiet halls of Avengers HQ I couldn't help but feel upset, I was on my own yet again. The team had left on a mission that would take, at the very least, a week. Some of the longer missions always seemed to take forever. It really sucked, because now I was forced to stay at the secret base alone and during summer break. I couldn't just go out shopping or too the beach or my friends' apartments, I had to stay around base or get another agent to come with me. At least I had Fury here to annoy, that had to count for something right? Falling onto one of the large sofas I rested my head on my arms while looking at the ceiling. Sighing I turned my head to where the sound of footsteps was coming from quickly realising that there was more than one set coming towards where I was. Sitting myself up I raised my eyebrow in confusion as Fury entered the room with two other men, who were both dressed in a sort of armoured clothing. Looking across the room for a moment Fury's gaze quickly fell upon where I was seated and gave me a small smile, which made me worry a bit. Fury does not smile very often. Taking a seat across the way from me, Fury cleared his throat a little as he waited for the two men to follow suit. "I don't entirely know how to tell you this kid, so bear with me." The SHIELD director started while looking between the two men and myself looking rather nervous. I don't think I have ever seen him become nervous about anything before so for Fury to be showing it meant this must be really important or dangerous. Nodding my head slightly I kept my gaze fixed between the three people sat before me and motioned for Fury to continue. "Malia these are Odin and Loki." Fury motioned to the older looking gentleman then the raven haired one with his gaze still fixed on me, waiting for if I would do anything. Nodding in understanding I looked between the two gentlemen I had just been introduced to. The names I knew, Odin and Loki Norse gods like my father but I had not learnt that from him. I had learnt those names from books and from what the other members could tell me, because of this I also knew something very important that I had a feeling Director Fury was going to tell me anyway. After silence had filled the room for a few moments I looked back to Fury who was watching me carefully.

"They're my father's father and brother. Aren't they?" I couldn't help but question quietly when Fury said nothing further. My statement caused said man to look me in the eyes and nod slowly with confusion held in his brown eyes, or should I say eye. My statement however caused a very different reaction from Loki and Odin, who were now smiling brightly at me. Well Odin was, Loki was a bit more reserved but the smile was still there.

"Yes. How the hell, you know that?" Fury suddenly stated momentarily losing his stern persona. Shaking my head at Fury, I turned back to Odin and Loki while still casting a small smirk at Fury. As his expression became slightly more annoyed I continued smirking for a few more seconds before putting the Shield director out of this misery.

"Honestly Fury, don't you know me at all?" I questioned him while leaning back against the plush white sofa with my arms crossed across my chest. It was a rather idiotic thing for Fury to ask me, the answer was really simple and I expected he would know it. When the stern man continued looking at me with a very slight look of confusion crossing his features, I gave of a little sigh before leaning forward and resting my forearms on my knees. "I read and I know things. If I can't find the answers I'm looking for in my books, I ask other people like Bruce or one of the researchers. I honestly thought that you would know this Fury." I stated calmly letting my inner sass reveal its self to the world as I continued smirking at the three men, earning a smirk back from Loki. Giving of a silent 'oh' Fury composed himself before giving a curt nod and looking towards Odin and sent a glance in my direction. Something was definitely up, why would Fury have Odin and Loki here if it wasn't for a good reason. I also think that he has a death wish because if by the way my father reacted when I asked about his family, how would he react to Fury introducing me to them. Raising my eyebrow in suspicion at the group I couldn't help but feel nervous about all this. Clearing his throat Odin faced me properly and looked me in the eyes with an unreadable emotion swimming across his features.
