My best friend, Lauren and I were in Apartment 3D, sitting around with the members of One Direction, attempting to pry answers from them about why they wanted to hang out with us. It was hard. Anytime we'd try to bring it up, they'd change the subject. "Sooo... Why have you guys been following us around?" I casually questioned, sliding onto the couch beside Lauren who was uncomfortably resting on the arm of the chair. "Oh.. Our label said that it would be good publicity for us to be seen hanging around fans," Liam answered quickly, suspiciously glancing at the boys as if seeking approval. "Publicity? This is about good publicity?" Lauren repeated in an irritated voice, shifting her weight closer to me. "No, no! We wanted to as well. You see, we were the ones who gave our label the idea. They just agreed with us," he replied, trying to get himself out of the hole he dug. "Well, if you guys haven't noticed, we aren't fans!" I stated a little too loudly, almost immediately shrinking back in embarrassment. They all exchanged worried glances before Liam stuttered an excuse, "Um, you see, the thing is..." "The thing is that we would much rather hang around down to earth people," Harry covered for Liam slowly, sending a puppydog expression as he plopped beside me. "We don't really enjoy it when girls 'fan-girl' in our faces," Zayn added with a shrug, sitting on the floor by Niall's feet. "And you ladies definitely do not fan-girl," the boy who I think was Louis put in.

"OH MY GOD! One Direction just called US down to earth!" Lauren screamed, flinging herself from the couch. The boys all jumped a little with fright. "Oh my gosh! It's like, a total dream come true!" I exclaimed, joining in as Lauren began jumping up and down excitedly. We turned to look at the five boys who were gaping at us. "Yeah....." I started in a sarcastic tone. "No," Lauren and I simultaneously finished in a dismissive voice. "So, you basically find all of your fans annoying?" Lauren questioned, calling them out on the spot. She just loved making them uncomfortable. "We love our fans, but.." Liam began, wringing his hands nervously. "We just wish we could be treated like normal people sometimes," Niall finished in his cute Irish accent..wait, what? Snap out of it, Amber. You hate them. "That's why we like you guys so much," Harry stated while blatantly staring at Lauren. Did he like her? She noticed him ogling and started to blush for a second before realizing what she was doing. "I.. Um... Have to go... call my mom.. I almost forgot.." Lauren declared sounding flustered as she moved to hurry out the door. "I probably should go.. check in with my mom too.." I added hesitantly, following Lauren quickly.

Lauren inserted our room key into the slot and sidled inside, pulling me along. "Call our moms?" I said, mocking us, "We don't even have moms!" "I forgot! We are so stupid," Lauren realized, chuckling lightly before containing herself seriously, "We can NOT start to like them. Especially Harry. I can't start to love his sparkling green eyes, or his curly brown hair, or his adorable accent or his...." Her hand had already reached for a strand of blonde hair, twirling it absentmindedly. "LAUREN! SNAP OUT OF IT!" I yelled in her face, combating her hand. She blinked a few times, seeming to drift back into reality. "Sorry.. I can't help it! You know I've always had a thing for British boys! And don't act like you don't get all starstruck around Niall!" she retorted with a glare. "What?" I questioned hoping she couldn't see through me. Niall's just cute! He was the least intimidating of the gang. Shut up, Amber! "Please! Don't think I don't see you sneaking little 'Amber glances' at him!" she insisted matter-of-factly. "Amber glances?" I inquired, casually trying to change the subject. "Yes, the little glance thing you do when you like guys! You know what I mean!" "I do nothing like that!" "Yes, you do. You look up at the guy, bite your lip, look to the left, down at your feet, grin, blush, and look back at him," Lauren informed me precisely. What the heck? Do I really do that? Now that I think about it, I guess I do. "Well, that was a very detailed description," I told her, still struggling to change the subject. "Amber, I know pretty much everything about you." She really does. She could write a book on me if she wanted to.
