"They're being blackmailed?" I repeated slowly, pondering every word. Danielle shushed me quickly, her eyes flicking about the room. I always had a problem with talking too loud. I covered my mouth up with my hands. "Like someone sent them something in a black envelope, what?" I covered not-so smoothly. "Yeah... They think it's Management messing with them," Danielle answered with a subtle wink. The room went silent for about a minute as we processed the information before Danielle excused herself to the restroom. Lauren and I exchanged nervous glances as she bounded away. I received a text from Lauren, "Does she know?" "Probably," I replied quickly, wasting no precious alone time. But then I got a different text from a weird number that startled me into visibly jumping. Lauren sent a questioning look my way and I shrugged, opening the text. The very first thing I read to myself, "Keep this message hidden." I tilted my phone screen away from everything as I continued reading silently, "We have to change the subject. If we don't, we could all get in trouble. If certain people hear, we're DONE... ~Danielle." I gaped at my phone screen. How'd Danielle get my number? Keep the message hidden? From who? Lauren? The first thing I thought of when I heard that was the cameras. The show. When she said 'certain people' did she mean the show producers? That incident led me to believe that Danielle had to know about the show. She was on our side? Maybe? Hopefully.
Lauren and I simultaneously realized that we had work in the morning and there was no getting off this time. When Danielle returned from the restroom, we shot up guiltily. "Well, we better be off to bed," Lauren threw out, shepherding her from behind. "Alright girls, nice talking to you. See you tomorrow?" she inquired, lingering at the door with us. "Definitely," I assured with a smile, feeling a friendship form already. She returned the smile before opening the door and stepping out. "How long have you been out here?" she questioned in a hushed yell to the anonymous person outside our room. "Girls," she called calmly through a strained smile, "You may want to see this." We poked our heads into the hallway only to be greeted by two very distraught seeming young men. The blonde one lit up easily at our appearance, "Amber! Lauren! I apologize for him. I--" "Save it. I don't want an apology from you. You have nothing to apologize for," Lauren scolded, crossing her arms as she stood in the doorway with a scowl on her face. She'd be more intimidating if she wasn't so pretty. "I would like an apology face-to-face from the scumbag himself. He isn't admitting any wrong by having you do it for him," she finished without wavering. Harry lifted his head, "I'm sorry." "I didn't ask for a half-assed apology, did I?" As he opened his mouth to respond, she cut him off, "You know what? Just save it. An apology can't fix this." He started to rise from the floor with Niall as Lauren stepped into the room, "Lock it. I'm done here." As painful as it was for me to do as I watched Niall's face disappear into the shrinking space between the door and the wall, I shut and locked our door. My back thudded against the door, "You didn't even give him a chance." "He doesn't need one. He needs to learn that his good looks can only get him so far. He can't just throw a charming smile or money or a half-assed apology around and make everything better for himself!" "Maybe we can't but he can. That's what he knows! Do you know how much most girls would pay to get his charming smile directed at them?" I defended, not quite sure why I was defending the male chauvinistic brat in the first place. "He is a spoiled brat and I don't want to get into this with you, alright?" "Fine," I decided, changing the subject as I pulled myself away from the door, "I don't want to work tomorrow!" "You never want to work," Lauren retorted with a laugh, "Or do ANYTHING for that matter!" "Shut up. You know you love me," I joked with a smug smirk. She stuck her tongue out at me and we sauntered to our bedroom together. Was it weird that merely seconds earlier we were in the middle of a heated dispute and now we were back to being best friends? Not at all! It was just us. We were always like that ever since the beginning. I curled up into my bed with the idea that sleep would come easy but I ended up being wrong. Very wrong. First, I toss and turn too many times to count, so Lauren throws pillows at me. Then I get up for a refreshing drink of water. But THEN, I have to go to the bathroom. THEN, the boys wouldn't shut up next door so I decided to lay on the couch and watch one of my favorite TV shows. It was a new episode of 'Say Yes To The Dress'. After trying on seven gowns, bride Savanna finally thought she found the dress of her dreams. The dress was only two seconds away from being revealed. She walked out in a beautiful ballgown. Turning to the camera, her skin went green and her gown transformed into a purple party dress. She starting dancing an Irish jig while screaming to screamo songs. Then her sister turned into a cow and she jumped on her back. The cow flew around the room and ate all of the dresses before- wait. I was dreaming wasn't I? Wow. My dreams always were weird. I drifted off even further and forgot what happened next.
