I examined the room. Why was everybody staring at ME?! I wasn't the one who just ran out of the room almost crying. But I was her best friend and I did plan on finding her.

I hurried to our bedroom, only to find the door closed and locked. "Amber? Are you in there?" I inquired through the door after a light knock. "Yeah," she responded, her voice sounding strained and distant. I was glad that she was at least responsive. "Can I come in?" I soothingly tested the water. "Is anyone else out there?" I swivelled to check. Yes. There were 5 boys behind me eavesdropping. I debated my response, "Just Niall." "Liar," she insisted, calling me on a bluff. I whispered a certain profanity and then pivoted again, shooing the boys away. Niall almost went with them before I grabbed his arm, "You have to come in here with me!" "No! She'll stab me or something!" Niall retorted nervously, yanking his arm away. "She won't stab you," I assured, wanting to laugh but knowing better. I knew we didn't have any knives in our room. Although, I wasn't sure if we had any other sharp objects... I fake-smiled convincingly. Niall bought it. "Okay, it's really just Niall and I now," I confessed to Amber through the door. "You can come in I guess," Amber sighed unhappily, giving me the permission I needed to take our bedroom key off of the top of the door frame and unlock the door. "Wait," Niall stopped me, "If you had a key to get in this whole time then why didn't you just unlock the door in the first place?" "If I did that, she would've stabbed us," I explained with a somewhat joking edge. Amber was laying on her bed with her face buried in the pillow. Niall sat on the end of her bed and put his hand on the back part of her leg, "Look, Amber, I'm really sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset. Really. I feel bad that I did." She turned onto her back and studied the ceiling, "It's not your fault. I overreacted. It's just that sometimes I really do get overlooked and it hurts me. I don't tell people when they hurt me. It just builds up over time until something like... That happens." I felt like I got kicked in the stomach. I never noticed Amber getting overlooked before. As far as I was concerned, she was more widely liked than me. I made my way to her bed and offered a hug, "I'm sorry for everything." "It isn't your fault either," Amber reassured me. "No. Promise me that if you ever are mad at me for ANYTHING, you'll tell me. Even if it's stupid," I insisted, holding onto her hand. "Okay. I promise." "So are you better now?" Niall spoke up. "Yeah. I guess I am," Amber smiled, propping her back up against her headboard. "Well then give me a hug," Niall ordered as though it were the most obvious thing in the world she had overlooked. She complied with a friendly smile, "Thanks for everything, Niall." "If you need to talk, I'm in the next room over. Just give me a shout." "I'll keep that in mind." Would she really? "You ready to come back out?" I questioned, "Derek will be here in a couple minutes." Amber grinned happily, "Okay!"

Once we all returned to the living room, 4 pairs of eyes gazed at me expectantly. I offered a thumbs up as a huge sigh of relief rose from the room. "How about some Wii?" Zayn reminded casually. I set up the Wii and sprawled the games out on the floor. Funny, they were all karaoke games. Plus Just Dance, Just Dance 2, and Just Dance 3. "Lets do Glee Karaoke!" Amber spoke up excitedly. She was awesome at the karaoke games. We both were. We had two microphones. As I set the game up, my mind hatched the idea that we should challenge One Direction to a sing off. Just as I looked up at Amber, she looked at me. Great minds think alike.

"I challenge Niall to a sing off," Amber declared finally, pointing to the chosen one decisively. The boys all erupted into a chorus of 'oooo' s. "I accept your challenge," Niall responded in an in-your-face voice, standing to join her. "You can pick the song, Sweet Pea. I'll kick your butt on any song any day," Amber replied confidently, offering him her remote. "No no, Angel, you pick," he insisted, pushing the remote back at her. "Okay," she agreed, flipping through her options. "Your best song is 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand,'" I advised quickly. She picked that song. "The Beatles. Great choice," Niall smiled victoriously before the game had even begun. Amber gave an amused smile, chose 'VS' mode, and lifted the mic to her mouth as the music kicked up.
