Amber snuck into our apartment slowly. "Where were you?" I asked suspiciously, my voice causing her to jump with fright. "Talking to Danielle," she answered without hesitation, obviously telling the truth. "Okay." The whole show thing was getting to me. I felt like I always had to be acting. "I have to leave soon for my date," Amber reminded me, stealing off to the kitchen for a snack. "Yeah. I'm gonna be here with the weirdos without you," I whined as she threw me a Cosmic Brownie from our pantry. "I know! I feel bad. That's what I was talking to Danielle about," she replied, unwrapping her brownie. "You were talking to Danielle about me being left alone here with the weirdos?" I repeated, unwrapping my brownie. That would be something. Amber calling Danielle's boyfriend a weirdo within the first hour they met. "No.. Not that exactly. Just that I wouldn't be here. Danielle wants to come hang out," Amber breathed, taking a bite. "Without you here? No." "No? Why not?" "Because she isn't going to like me and I'm not going to like her," I resolved, shoving half of the chocolately treat into my mouth. "She's going to like you and you're going to like her! You're both nice people! You'll get along fine," Amber insisted, taking my wrapper and tossing it in the trash along with hers. "Amber, we have to face the facts here. I'm not likable. Me and you, we're perfect together because we like the same things. But we're different on how we handle things. If you're hurt, you act like you're fine. If I'm hurt everyone knows because I speak my mind. People don't like me because of it. People like you because you're sweet even though on the inside you hate everyone and you want to kill people. See? Only I know that side of you," I smiled, finishing my brownie. Amber rolled her eyes, not allowing me to avoid the situation, "You'll just have to turn on the charm then."
An hour went by faster than I thought it would. Amber left me alone in our apartment but I found it to be the perfect opportunity to relax. I plopped on the couch and flipped on the television. E! News was on so of course I watched it. Guiliana Rancic was on with Ryan Secrest gossiping about the new Brangelina baby. I wondered how many that was now. Kim Kardashian and whoever she was married to are already filing for a divorce. Almost 75 whole days of being married. Must be a new record for Kim. Justin Bieber's new fragrance 'Someday' is a hit. His new album is set to drop in June. Jelena went on a romantic vacation to some foreign island. Guiliana and Bill Rancic decided on allowing a third party to carry their baby for them. Jennifer Aniston is rumored to be engaged. Again. Vanessa Hudgens and her new boyfriend are in Australia together. Wow. Was there anything on E! that wasn't about celebrity couples? Only made my desire for a boyfriend even stronger. There was a knock on the apartment door. "If it's any of you One Direction creeps, you can leave," I yelled from the couch. I was feeling so nice today. "It's Danielle," a girl's voice replied. I got up and gazed through the peephole exasperatedly. It was her. I opened the door with much effort, "Hi." Danielle gave me a questioning look, "Hi. I just came to hang out and get to know you better." "Come on in," I sighed, not happy about it.
Danielle and I sat on the couch watching E! until Danielle decided to start a conversation, "So why did you call me a One Direction creep?" "Oh no no! I wasn't calling you a One Direction creep. I meant if it was anyone in One Direction," I explained, waving my hands. "Why are they creeps?" Danielle questioned, furrowing her brow. "Good question," I breathed, picking my nails. How could I word it in a nice way that wouldn't offend her? "Well they were kinda following us. All day yesterday. Everywhere. Even into the mall. And the stores we went into! And to the gas station. And then they pretty much forced us to hang out with them. And when we agreed to that, they took us back here. To our apartment! And THEN they told us they're staying here. And THEN we found out they're on the same floor AND in the neighboring rooms to ours," I spilled, listing all of the creepy events I could remember. "I can understand why that would be creepy," Danielle agreed. "And while we were partying in our apartment last night, I got drunk and me and Harry KISSED! Can you believe that?" I continued. "You were partying?" "Most of us. Liam was good. He stayed sober and kept to himself," I assured, not wanting to get Liam in trouble. "That's my Liam," she smiled. I smiled too. "So you and Harry kissed?" Danielle pribed, leaning forward with intrigue. "Yes!" "Did you like it?" she wondered, not bothering to filter. "I was drunk!" I replied, "Of course I liked it." I didn't want to say that too loudly. "Do you like him?" "I just met him. And I can't like him soo.." I hesitated, scanning the room with my eyes quickly. "Why not?" "It's complicated," I sighed, turning my attention back to the news before I said too much. Was there a reason I wanted to spill my guts out to this girl I just met? She sighed too. I knew she knew about the show. How couldn't she? I wanted to ask her about it so badly. I wanted to know what show I was on, what it's about, and why me? Why Amber and I? They could've picked any other girls to play our parts, so why us? I clenched my fist in frustration. If I knew we were alone, I would ask, but who knew who was watching us at that exact moment. Probably Simon Cowell himself. Wouldn't surprise me one bit. "Are you okay?" Danielle questioned, staring at me from her side of the couch. "Truthfully? No."
