harry stood up from his bed, walking to his bathroom with his clothes that he chose last night. he turned on the shower water, waiting for it to turn warm enough. after stripping out of his pajamas, he stepped into this walk in shower. harry washed his hair and quickly washed his body with his axe body wash. once he was rinsed off, he dried off and got dressed. he picked up his toothbrush and toothpaste, brushed his teeth, and brushed his hair.

harry walked downstairs for breakfast with his sister, since his mom was at work. both kids had no school today, since it was spring break finally. *a/n it will be spring break for the next few chapter (:*

"hey, i made you some pancakes." gemma greeted her brother, putting his plate down where he usually sits at the dining table. he told her a quick thank you before digging in, finishing his pancakes fast due to how hungry he was. there was a knock at the door, causing both siblings to look over at the front door in confusion. gemma walked to the door to answer it, leaving harry in the dining room.

"oh, hi ms.knight, victoria." victoria's mom, ms.knight, gave gemma a fake smile, pushing victoria forward a bit harshly.

"hello. is it okay if victoria stays here until i come back from work?" gemma smiled widely, happy to help.

"of course! come on in, victoria." victoria stared at her with a blank expression before cautiously walking inside the large house. gemma closed the door and followed victoria into the kitchen. harry's eyes went wide when he saw victoria standing there. victoria wasn't surprised at all, more disappointed. of course she knew that this was his house but she didn't want to be here.

"h-hey victoria." harry greeted her, giving her a small smile. victoria just sighed and sat as far as she could from harry. gemma gave her brother a sympathetic smile, feeling sorry for how victoria is just ignoring him. victoria was used to not talking, she hasn't talked to anyone besides her mother for two years.

"would you like something to eat?" gemma asked victoria, motioning towards the stack of pancakes she made earlier. victoria looked up from the place mat she was examining, trying to read all of the words that were printed onto it, and made eye contact with gemma. it was starting to scare gemma, seeing her like this. the victoria she remembers was full of life, and her green eyes were always bright and shining, just like her soul. now, everything was dull.

"she doesn't like pancakes." harry answered for victoria. victoria was surprised harry remembered this, but it wasn't that long ago when they stopped being friends.

"i can make you something else. cereal?" victoria shook her head, looking back down at the place mat. she started to mouth the words to herself.

'beautiful.' 'loved.' 'family.' 'live.'

'how ironic,' victoria thought, 'these are all the things i don't feel or have. i don't feel beautiful. i don't feel loved. i have no family. i feel as if i shouldn't live.'

"what would you like, then?" gemma asked. victoria couldn't answer this question, since she couldn't just nod or shake her head no. harry noticed this, and went to the drawer to get a piece of paper and a pencil. he set it in front of victoria, giving her a small smile.

'i'm fine. i'm going upstairs.'

victoria wrote as neatly as she could, pushing it towards gemma before walking upstairs. harry read it also.

"she has changed a lot, huh?" harry nodded, looking down at his lap. all because of that monster of a father, his best friend has changed into someone who he can't even recognize. it was saddening.
