Me, Opel, and her dad were taken on a tour of the school and everywhere I looked all the fledglings were starring at me and I saw no one like me . "Um high priestess Johanna I'm not sure I'm gonna fit in here, everyone is starring at me I don't think I can make any friends here." She then stopped walking and turned around to look at me. "You have nothing to worry about Scarlett, in time they will come to like you, you are not the first of your kind there is another House of Night school with many other fledglings just like you I promise you in time things will change." She then turned back around and we kept walking, during the tour I was looking around when I saw something like a temple and a man with black wings inside I stopped walking and I looked curiously at the man, then just for a moment he looked at me and then he flew up and I lost sight of him. "Scarlett are you alright dear?" High priestess Johanna asked me bringing me back from my distraction. I turned and faced her unsure what to say. "Um Johanna I could be mistaken, but for a moment I thought I saw someone in there with wings." She then turned to where I was pointing and seemed unconcerned. "The man you saw was Erebus the angel, after his brother Kalona returned to our goddess Nyx he decided to come here and he fell to earth, the reason why I am not sure he said he was searching for something." She then turned back to me and smiled. "It would be best to leave him alone,he was believed to be the consort of Nyx but we now know that it was Kalona and he has been upset ever since and, we had hoped that when he came here he would become the new leader of the sons of Erebus class but he refused and he has stayed inside Nyx's temple ever since, I think in a way it makes him feel close to her what with him being on Earth and being so lonely; Now then shall we finish the tour?" She then turned back around and was about to show us the library when I heard a screech and saw my dad's car pull up with two police cars right behind him. I stopped dead in my tracks as I saw him get out of his car and his eyes went straight to me. I then saw the police officers get out of their cars and point guns at Opel, her dad, and the high priestess. "Release Scarlett to her father, you are all under arrest for kidnapping!" I then panicked and ran in front of Opel and her dad, along with the high priestess. "Please stop they didn't kidnap me I swear they were saving me from my father, whatever he has told he is lying !" My father then started talking while still looking at me. "Don't listen to her I wouldn't doubt it if they told her not to come back or they would kill me that's how kidnappers are." The police officers then began to lower their guns and I knew they didn't believe him. "My father is still lying to you he's the one who beat me every time I didn't listen to him, I may not have the bruises to prove it but if these guys had kidnapped me I wouldn't be protecting them, he's the one you should be pointing a gun at!" Then just as he was about to speak again I heard wings flapping and in front of me landed Erebus. He looked at me and it was as if time had stopped and I stayed there standing in his presence. He then turned his head striking fear into my father's eyes. "Scarlett speaks the truth I can see how much she fears her father for she does not run to him." Opel then stepped up to defend me. "It's true I came by her house and she had a bruise under her eye the only reason it's gone is because the tracker healed it when he marked her; why else would we bring her here if not to save her life." My dad then walked closer pulling out a gun and began shooting at Erebus but the bullets just bounced off his chest. My father then threw down the gun to the ground and was about to pull a knife out of his  pocket when Erebus picked him up by his shirt and carried him over to the police and then dropped him at their feet. The police then began handcuffing his hands behind his back and then he started screaming at me as they put him in the police car. "You may be safe now but you will always be the girl who killed her mother as an infant and you won't be able to live with the guilt, you have chosen your new home well and I hope you enjoy your time with the freaks!" The door was then slammed in his face and the police drove away after apologizing to Johanna. After they left I wanted to thank Erebus for standing up for me but before I could he flew out of my reach. "Wait!" I yelled to him but he was already gone. I then turned to Johanna and she motioned for me to follow her. "I think it's time your friend and her father went home, you need to get settled in anyway I'll make sure your roommate shows you around after classes." I nodded and then hugged Opel and her dad goodbye. "Stay safe and text me anytime you need anything, you're welcome to visit us anytime we're family." I smiled at her trying not to cry as they got into the truck and left I then turned and followed Johanna to the girls dorm but all the while I could feel someone watching me.
