Hey guys! Be warned in this story Kakashi's and everybody else's ages might be changed a little. Also, give me any suggestions if you see anything wrong!

It was silent through the streets of the usually peaceful leaf village, well, almost silent. The horrific screams of a six-year-old girl could be heard as a couple of drunk shinobi beat and tortured said little girl with malice that wasn't fit for any child.

"Heh, heh," one of them laughed, "Die you demon!" he yelled as he thrust a kunai into her stomach.

The little girl screamed and cried hot tears as the other shinobi kept her from moving, the only reason she wasn't gone. Both men laughed as they watched the girl, who is covered with her own blood, scream in unrivaled pain and agony, taking a horrid pleasure in this 'demons' pain. He twisted the kunai before pulling it out. They watched in sick fascination as the Kyuubi healed the wound, "Oh so she really is a monster!" the other one finally spoke, wearing a fake surprised look that mocked her as the little girl was now limp and crying silently. Conscious, but tired of screaming, knowing that no one was going to help her.

"I've got an idea. How 'bout since she doesn't want to scream anymore we just kill her voice altogether!" He clapped as if happy when the previous shinobi held her down on the ground.

The little girl shook her head vigorously and whispered in a hoard voice, "No, no. Please stop! I didn't do anythin-!" her scream was cut short as he struck her voice box with the same bloodied kunai.

She went limp, all sound suddenly ceased along with her movements. It was as if she were a marionette and someone just cut the strings, leaving the doll on the ground. The shinobi were confused at this development. "The hell!" the first one yelled in frustration. He shook the girl but she didn't move.

"I wasn't done yet," the other whispered as if he was sad he got off the girl and pulled the kunai out, wiping it clean on the girls once white dress. He put it back in his pouch and turned around, they didn't notice the wound healing. "Let's go," he sighed, "she didn't last very long."

"Yeah, they said that they were able to torture her for hours," his companion mentioned, rubbing the back of his neck with one eye closed, "Guess they were wrong."

They went to take another step but didn't make it. They both had shocked looks on their faces as the same girl they thought they just killed had them both by the throat. She smiled maliciously, looking up through her blood-soaked hair that was once a shiny golden-blond. Her smile grew creepily and crushed their throats and dropped them on the ground, she watched them with no emotion as they tried to breathe in air, her once blue eyes shone bright red in the dark night as one 15-year-old Dog Anbu with silver gravity-defying hair dropped down to the ground. Other Anbu circled around the girl, dead shinobi, and the silver-haired Anbu. "Naru." The silver-haired teen started, concern lacing his voice as he spoke gently to the young girl in front of him.

The girls head shot toward the voice, eyes still red. She rushed at him, ready to punch. He stopped her fist only a few centimeters away from his body. A new anbu, Cat, started whispering to the one next to him, "Is he alright?" he asked concerned for his fellow Anbu.

"Be quiet and watch," the one next to him, Hawk, quickly whispered but it was too late, the bloodied girl's head snapped toward him; Cat stiffened as her cold red eyes glared at him.

But the silver-haired anbu went on his knees, still holding the girl's hand gingerly. Calmly and gently, he placed his free hand on the girl's cheek, her stiffened body loosened a little as he redirected her gaze to his; affectionately caressing her small cheek with his thumb. Right as she looked into his eyes her own turned back to normal and started tearing up, he pulled her into his arms and she hugged him back. No sounds came out of her mouth as she sobbed, this worried the Anbu that weren't newly appointed, "Dog..." Snake whispered sadly, something uncharacteristic when it came to the usually sadistic and boisterous woman.

He hugged the girl tighter, "I know..." you could hear that he was trying not to cry as hard as the girl he was holding was. "I'm so sorry, Naru,' he apologized.

The girl stopped crying and pulled out of his hug, he rested his hands on her shoulders and he sat criss-cross on the ground. She sniffled and wiped her face with her sleeve then went to take off Dog's mask, he let her. Setting the mask down on the ground, she gazed up at the young 15-year-old's face that was covered halfway with a black mask. Once she saw he was crying her face turned sad, putting her small hands on Kakashi's face she tried to wipe the tears away, she shook her head and mouthed the words, "Why are you crying!? I don't like it!" Kakashi chuckled lightly.

"Alright, alright." He took her hands and held them as he looked into her eyes, "Let's go see the Hokage," the young girl nodded her head vigorously with a smile on her face.

Cat and Hawk walked over to Boar, "How can she still smile after that torture?" Cat inquired, a disbelieving tone to his voice.

"I don't really know, that one is a peculiar child. She's always been like that for as long as I can remember. It broke my heart the first time the Hokage told me to watch over her," snake explained sadly. "But, she's going to become quite strong. If you haven't noticed Dog's hand is broken." She pointed and Kakashi's hand which was broken; Cat winced at the sight.

"Ouch," Hawk commented, "It's not the worst though, once time she stabbed him in the stomach. Of course being the, what? Four-year-old she was, she cried, apologized and said she'd see him in the afterlife. She was scared to death he was going to die."

"Four!?" Cat yelled.

"Yep. Let's go report to the Hokage," Snake confirmed.

"Um, what's their relationship? They seem close," Cat inquired as they walked. Kakashi and Naru were ahead, Naru in Kakashi's free arm, resting peacfully on his shoulder.

"Ah, that we don't know. There's actually a few bets that they'll begin dating once she turns the right age," Hawk explained as he scratched the cheek of his mask.

Cat sweatdropped then sighed, " You guys are so mature," he remarked sarcastically.

*Time skip*

"Naru!" The Hokage exclaimed as he set down a paper and ran toward a nervous Naru as she poked her head through his door, "What happened to you!?" he asked urgently, searching her all over for wounds but found none. "Why are you covered with blood?" he asked again, setting her on his desk. She tried to explain but a sound didn't come out, she sadly touched her neck when she heard she couldn't speak. "What happened?" He asked sternly.

"We can explain that Hokage-sama," Snake walked through the door with Hawk, Dog, and Cat. The Hokage nodded and they explained the situation.

Sarutobi stood up and slammed his hands on the desk in rage, "And you didn't stop them!?" he yelled.

Everyone watched in wonder and awe as Naru placed her chakra coated hands on the Hokages and smiled up at him in a calming manner, 'Calm down, it's not their fault. They were late so they couldn't help,' The Hokage heard in his head.

"How did you do that Naru?" The Hokage asked as he sat down in his seat everyone else walked over in wonder.

Naru tilted her head with an innocent look on her face, 'Kura-nii told me if I concentrated chakra on my hands and placed them on yours, then I could talk to you,' she replied.

"Who's Kura-Nii?" the Hokage asked.

'Oh right, he's the Kyuubi no Kitsune," she explained happily, the Hokage froze in his place.

"What's happening?" Cat wondered, voicing his thoughts.

"I don't really know," Dog replied back.
