Chap 4: Show 'em Who's Captain! (E)

Recap: 

'I really am loved... Human or not, these animals love me and I love them back,' the head of the forest, a majestic, multicolored tiger, walked up to me and nuzzled my face, 'I love you, guys.' They all 'Aww'ed back making me blush. I waved as I walked away.

I sighed as I remembered I was going to train more on Monday. 'I'm gonna, die!' I cried anime tears.

Two years later- Third POV

Naru ran down the streets of Konoha at a much faster pace than she did two years ago with a smile on her face as the sun went down and the people on the streets were heading home or cleaning up they're shops. Behind her was a certain 17-year-old, white-haired shinobi that was also smiling behind his black mask as he chased her. Suddenly she dropped down into an alley making the masked shinobi that was chasing her yell out in concern, "Naru are you alright!?" Kakashi yelled as he jumped down next to the now 8-year-old girl who looked to be in pain, holding her right ankle.

He gently moved her hands away from her ankle as she looked down teary-eyed at him. He picked her up and set her on a box that was in the alley, she grabbed his forearm and squeezed as he gently moved her ankle to see if it was broken, he sighed once he stopped and stood up. Naru let go of his sleeve and signed to the man, 'Is it okay?' she asked.

"Yes, its just a sprain Naru, Kurama should heal it soon," he explained but then remembered as Naru looked down that on the mission they had yesterday she had almost used up all of his chakra because she had lost a lot of blood, "Oh...right," Kakashi started before picking her up bridal style in his arms.

She looked at him in surprise before blushing and looking down, 'I can walk on my own y'know,' she shyly signed while looking down as much as possible. He chuckled as she pouted childishly.

"I'm not letting you walk no matter how much cuter you make your face," he explained before blushing slightly as he realized what he said. 'Shit, I didn't mean for it to slip that I think she's cute.'

Kakashi then looked down because he felt Naru shaking in his arms to find she was silently giggling, 'Did you just call me cute?' Naru teased, smirking at Kakashi.

"Okay, now you're just teasing me. Let's go home so I can wrap your foot," he amended, rolling his eyes. As they walked Kakashi could feel Naru fidgeting in her arms. He looked down to see her blushing profusely, concerned he asked in a whisper, "Are you okay, Naru?"

She looked up at him still blushing and signed, 'Everyone's staring at us Kaka-Kun. It's embarrassing.'

Kakashi smirked under his mask before leaning down to Naru's ear, "Then let them stare," he whispered, his warm breath caressing her ear.

She blushed harder and looked down at her hands as he smirked wider at her reaction. You see he knew that he loved Naru, he just didn't know if it was right considering he was 9 years older than her. So he told himself that he would wait until she was a little older before making a move. He just couldn't help but tease her because she had the cutest reactions.

The rest of the walk to Kakashi and her shared apartment was quiet, as well as the time he spent wrapping her ankle. Once he was done he leaned up to her forehead and kissed it through his mask, "Oh and for the record, you are pretty cute," he chuckled and walked out of the living room as Naru blushed as red as a tomato and touched where he kissed.

She layed there on the couch in thought for a few minutes before she shot up in a sitting position on the couch, 'OMG I like Kaka-kun!'  she yelled in her head with another blush dusting her cheeks.
"Finally you figured it out! Geez kit, I never would've thought that the great anbu captain could be this dense on her own feelings!" Kurama spoke in her mind. 'Wait, Kura-nii you knew this whole time that I like Kaka-kun?!' she yelled in her mind once again making Kurama sigh, "Yes I knew, I do hear all of your thoughts so its impossible not to know," he explained.
Naru laid down again, 'So what should I do?' Naru asked. "As much as I ship your guys' relationship I think you guys should wait until you're at least 13 or so, he is about 9 years older than you so I think that's acceptable," Kurama explained as Naru nodded and let a comfortable darkness consume her.
