Chap 6: Anbu duties & Class (E)

Shikamaru nodded and I smiled so big I thought that my face was gonna split, I grabbed his and Choji's hands and pulled them into the school before letting go and heading back to my seat. They did the same with their own happy smile.

'Today was a good day...' I thought happily as I looked out the window.

I sighed, it's been about six months since I joined the academy and it seems that any new Anbu recruit was now an arrogant asshole, with the exception of a few good people.

During that time my birthday had passed, I'm now 9 years old. Anko had left to become a special jonin so now she was gone, I kind of missed her, I'll visit her sometime. I was currently walking with Kakashi, the second in command, to go and evaluate the latest batch of Anbu for the last part of their exams. I was assured that there was only one arrogant person in this group, so I was hopeful that I wouldn't have too much trouble.

Kakashi and I turned a corner and walked down the corridor near the examinee room. Feeling an oncoming headche, I stopped walking and put my head in my hands and let out a sigh, "Hey," Kakashi began softly. I hummed for him to continue through my telepathy. He grabbed my shoulders and began massaging my shoulders and lower neck, eliciting a silent groan, he was very good at massages. "You need a break. You're only 9 and still a growing Kunoichi. Not to mention you have so many knots that it must hurt, so I'm guessing this massage feels great right now," I smiled and grabbed his hand while turning around.

'Thanks, I needed that massage. And you're right, I do need a break but so do you. How 'bout this, I'll ask Hawk to take over duties for me so we can go home early tonight?' my smile grew as he nodded. We continued our walk to the Anbu examinees.

After entering the empty room, I sat down in the chair and looked at the profiles of all the Anbu examinees I would be evaluating, I hummed thoughtfully as they walked into the room and stood in a single file line. I handed the files to Kakashi and he took it. All the maskless Anbu examinees looked at me and a couple started to whisper. I looked the recruits over, taking notice of how offput they were that a child was sitting in captain's chair. "What's the kid doing here and why is the Captain standing instead of sitting?" The examinee she was talking to whispered back that she didn't know. I motioned for Kakashi to come to me, even though we already had the communication seal I wanted to mess with the recruits, just a little.

As he walked over to me the examinees looked at us weirdly and even weirder as I placed my hand in his for a second then pulled it away, it was quite funny. 'I wonder how long it will take for them to notice that in the captain? Did no one tell them it was a 'little girl'? Their faces are hilarious right now.' I could hear that Kakashi stifled a laugh as he responded.

"Captain, I think that you should stop messing with them now," Kakashi recommended I nodded.

Cat, who was watching from the door burst out laughing at the examinee's faces as their eyes bulged out and they all shouted, "CAPTAIN!?" I nodded again and gave a two finger salute.

One of them snorted, "You guys must be messing with us and making this kid act like she's the Captain when one of you really are the Captain," the black-haired boy, Yua, smirked as he gestured to Kakashi and Cat.

"Hey dog?" Cat asked, Kakashi looked at him and hummed for him to continue, " I mean I get they're new, but I didn't think they were actually this stupid. I mean seriously, there aren't very many mute people in the world. Let alone this village, last time I knew she was the only mute person." Dog nodded at this while the examinees looked livid.
