Never meant to be?

Arthur's order

Kaldur woke up to his phone ringing on the bedside table. He sat up and answered it.

"Aqualad." He whispered.

"Kaldur'ahm we need to speak. Come to Atlantis in one hour." Arthur demanded.

"Very well my king." Kaldur said hanging up.

Roy tightened his hold on Kaldur's waist when he tried to get out of bed. Kaldur slipped out of bed and went to the bathroom to wash up. He didn't hear Roy walk in the room and took him by his waist. Kaldur looked in the mirror and smiled at his reflection. Roy arms were around his waist and his chin rested on his shoulder. Kaldur took his hands off the counter and placed them over Roy's. He brought them to his lips and kissed Roy's hand.

"Why is this sexy man not in bed? You don't have training till tomorrow." Roy asked in a husky voice.

"I have to go to a meeting in Atlantis in an hour." Kaldur replied in a light voice.

"Ditch it. I want you here. You work too hard." Roy mumbled as he licked Kaldur's gills.

"I-I can not do that. Arthur would come look for me." Kaldur whispered softly.

"And we wouldn't want that would we." Roy mumbled as he suckled on Kaldur's ear lobe.

"I have to get ready." Kaldur said as he moved out of his arms to take a shower.

He turned the water on and let the steam surrounded him. He takes in a deep breath as he felt a hand in his hip. He didn't even turn around to look at Roy.

"I have never seen you so touchy before. Care to explain?" Kaldur said while laughing slightly.

"You have no idea how bad I wanted to touch you. I'm not wasting another second." Roy purred loudly.

They spent about 10 minutes in the shower before getting dressed. After that they had a small breakfast before Roy walked Kaldur to the zeta beam.

"I should see you after your little meeting right." Roy said as they walked to beam hand in hand.

"I believe so. You did not have to walk me to the zeta beam." Kaldur said as he looked at their hands laced together.

"I wanted to, remember." Roy said as they turned the corner.

"See you later." Roy said as Kaldur put in the coordinates.

"Goodbye my love." Kaldur said as they kissed briefly.

Roy watched as Kaldur walked through the beam.

As Kaldur made his way to the his king, he began to wonder what did he want to say to him. He also wondered what he would say about Roy to his king. He knew that he king would not be pleased with his decision but he has to be honest with him. He went to the throne room to see Mera, Orm, and Arthur waiting.

"You called for me my king." Kaldur said with bow.

"I did. Walk with me my son." Arheu said as he left the room.

Kaldur followed curiously. After about 5 minutes Kaldur and Arthur stopped at the balcony.

"Kaldur I wish to tell you something." Arthur said.

"What is it Annex?" Kaldur asked as he looked at his king.

"I know about your relationship with Oliver's boy. I want you to end it." Arthur demanded.

"Why?" Kaldur asked.

"You know that I wanted you to marry an Atlantean. Why do you chose Oliver's boy, of all people to chose?" Arthur explained angrily.

"That is not what I want though. I did not chose Oliver's boy, my heart did. I thought you would he happy." Kaldur said a little upset and hurt.

"He is going to hurt you. He is not right for you!" Arthur shouted loudly.

"And Tula was!?" Kaldur shouted just as loudly.

"I approve of Tula not of him. He would and will get you killed." Arthur said.

"You do not know that." Kaldur augured back.

"I have known him longer than you. He will only use you for his purposes and move on. Like father like son." Arthur explained.

"I love him Arthur. Why is it hard for you to understand?" Kaldur said.

The next thing Kaldur knew he was on the ground and his cheek felt red. He didn't even hear the slap. He snapped his head up at Arthur with a tear in his eye he refused to let fall.

"Kaldur make the right choice." Arthur said with a booming voice.

"Is that a threat?" Kaldur asked.

Arthur didn't say a word. He just walked away. When Kaldur heard the door shut close he hung his head and cried for a good minute or two. Kaldur kept touching his slapped cheek to see if it really happened. After about 6 minutes he got up and left. He knew that Roy wasn't gonna like this.
