Chapter 11

Normani sighed and sat down, running a hand through her hair. "Mila, I'm fine."

"You need to eat." Camila responded bluntly, pushing a plate of salad towards Normani.

Rolling her eyes, Normani leaned forward and started eating the salad. "I passed out once today, I'm fine." She said looking around the food court

"Passing out doesn't mean you're fine." Camila responded.

Lauren and Quinn sat down, sitting their kids on their knees.

"Why do you even care?" Normani mumbled, eating slowly.

"Because you're supposed to be my friend and I love you." Camila responded quickly.

Looking up, Normani frowns. "So now I'm just a friend? Great, thanks for the salad. I have to get back to work." She mumbled standing up.

Camila sighed and let her go. She didn't want to push her luck. She ran her fingers through her hair. "We should get the cat home."

Normani forced a smile before walking off.

Sighing, Normani sat at a lunch table at school, poking at her lunch, she hadn't been grocery shopping yet and only had salad.

Lauren suddenly appeared beside her. "Mani?" She asked quietly, biting her lower lip.

She expected the older girl to snap at her like she had done when Lauren asked to borrow a pen in Spanish class.

"What?" Normani mumbled, stabbing her fork into some lettuce.

"I forgot to give you your pen back." Lauren responded quietly, placing the pink pen beside Normani's hand. Her fingers accidentally brushed the back of Normani's hand and Lauren flinched away. "Sorry." She mumbled.

Normani's heart sped up in her chest at the feeling of Lauren's fingers against hers.

Closing her eyes, Normani drops her fork and takes a deep breath before grabbing Lauren's hand and pulling the younger girl onto her lap.

"Did you feel anything when we kissed?" She asked quietly.

Lauren ran her fingers through her hair and pushed her cheerleading skirt down her legs as she nodded slowly, biting her lip shyly.

"Then why did you say you didn't?" Normani asked, pulling Lauren closer and kissing her neck.

Lauren shivered. "I didn't want to hurt Camila. But I didn't realise by lying I was hurting you." A tear landed on Normani's hand. "I'm sorry." Lauren mumbled through a quiet sob.

Lifting her head, Normani looks into Lauren's eyes and leans in kissing her slowly and passionately.

Camila watched Normani and Lauren from across the lunch hall, jealous.

"Mani, needs to get it out of her system." Quinn said softly, squeezing Camila's hand.

Taking a deep breath, Camila turns to face Quinn. "Normani's mine, she's not supposed to want Lauren."

Quinn sighed. "Can I be honest with you?" She asked shyly.

"Go ahead." Camila said, running a hand through her hair.

"Mani kissed me." Quinn dropped her head and bit her lip, waiting for Camila to yell at her.

Tensing up, Camila closes her eyes. "Did you kiss her back? Do you have feelings for her?"

"Y-yes." Quinn whispered.

Camila grew angry. She stood up and walked away from Quinn, running her fingers through her hair in frustration.
