Irresistible

Chapter 21

To say telling the kids other than Isabella that Normani wouldn't be coming home for a long time was hard, was an understatement. Prue took it the hardest besides Mateo and Isabella. She threw a fit and locked herself in her room. Ever since then Isabella and Prue have become silent, barely interacting with anyone. That was four months ago.

"Should we take them to see her?" Camila asked as she took a sip of her coffee.

Quinn bit her lip and watched Prue who was curled up under the kitchen table. "It might help."

Camila nodded. She looked at the time. "Visiting hours start at two." She said.

"It's only nine, why don't we try and get them ready, since our parents have the other kids." Quinn said, watching as Prue pushes Rocco away.

Camila nodded and ran her fingers through her hair.

Buttercup meowed and pawed Prue gently, only to be pushed away. The cat looked absolutely horrified before running and jumping on Lauren's lap.

"She's never pushed Buttercup away." Lauren said in shock as she begins to pet the cat.

Buttercup meowed and rubbed her head against Lauren's chest.

Isabella walked out of her room and up to them, lifting up a notebook. 'Can I have some pancakes?' It read.

"I'll make them." Lauren gave Isabella a smile before standing and putting Buttercup down on her chair. She moved to the sink and washed her hands.

Isabella sat down on the floor and stared at the blank tv screen.

Lauren made Isabella's pancakes and brought them to her, she grabbed the television remote and handed it to Isabella. Staring at the remote, Isabella frowned before looking up at Lauren.

"Watch something. It might take your mind off of things." Lauren said softly.

Pushing the on button, Isabella frowns when Criminal Minds comes onto the tv.

"Change it." Lauren said quickly.

Changing the channel, Isabella fights back tears when Law and Order comes on.

Lauren hit her forehead with her palm before shaking her head. "Change it again."

Changing the channel one more time, Isabella bursts into tears as NCIS comes on showing a soldier with a bullet between his eyes.

Lauren felt so stupid at that moment and she released a heavy sigh, pulling Isabella into her arms. Burying her face in Lauren's neck, the seven year old began to sob. Lauren rubbed her back softly and began swaying, rocking the young girl.

Camila quickly turned off the tv as Prue walked into the room with tears in her eyes. "You're okay." Camila said softly. She picked her up and held her close, swaying and rocking the young girl.

Burying her face in Camila's neck, Prue began to softly sob while gripping her mother's shirt.

Isabella pulled away from Lauren and looked down at her hands.
Lauren tried to hide her hurt. She hated when the kids pulled away from her.

"Lolo, can we go lay down?" Isabella whispered after a few minutes, it was the first time she had talked since the trial.

Lauren's eyes widened and she nodded quickly, taking Isabella's hand and leading her to her room.

"Where are we going?" Isabella asked softly, holding Lauren's hand as they began walking up to the prison.

"To see Mama." Lauren responded, squeezing Isabella's hand softly.

The little girl smiled and looked up at Lauren. "Really?"
Lauren smiled softly and nodded. "Yup."
