My mother greeted me at the door with her arms crossed tightly over her chest, my older brother looking over her shoulder as he shook his head.
"Where have you been young lady? You know its almost 5 p.m. If I do recall correctly school gets out at 3. Where were you?" My mother pushed the door open to allow me to step inside, Jacob quickly exited from the kitchen once he realized there was going to be arguing.
"I'm sorry mom." I sighed. " I got in a little trouble at school and had to stay after so the principal could talk to me."
With this Jacob came rounding the corner with a bag of chips tucked under his arm.
"You got in trouble? Pfft, yeah right."I rolled my eyes at my annoying brother as be walked passed me but not before running his cheesy fingers through my hair from the chips.
I groaned and reached back to shove him before picking out the small pieces of chip from my blonde hair.
"You got in trouble? What did you do?"
I looked over at my mom as she continued to walk over to the stove, humming to herself while peeling a few potatoes.
I usually don't like telling my parents my personal things. Its just weird. But I figured I might as well tell my mother, at least I wont be in trouble if I tell her what happened. I think.
"I got into a little fight with Steve and Nancy. You know after what they did I kind of just lost it. I ended up hitting him, a few times. And the principal caught me in the act."
My mothers reaction wasn't what I expected, I thought she would be angry. Maybe ground me for a few days. At least yell at me and give me the talk saying "violence is not the answer" blah blah.
"Well. He deserved it. Did you get him good?"
I couldn't help but laugh deeply, nodding my head to answer my now quite amused mother.
I pushed up from my spot sitting on the edge of the table before climbing the stairs to my messy room. I kicked a few articles of dirty clothing into a small pile in the corner of my room. Ill pick it up later. I flopped down on the bed and looked up at the small glow in the dark stars spread across the ceiling . I could hear Billy's word repeat over and over in my head as I reached over to grab my Magic 8ball before speaking.
"Okay okay.. Should I go with Billy's plan?"
I shook the small ball in my hand before turning it upside down to watch the small dice surface to the clear part before squinting my eyes to read the small lettering.
"No."
I shook my head before sitting the toy back down, leaning my head against the pillows as I thought to myself. Wow, I'm taking advice from a plastic toy.
Before I knew it my eyes began to grow heavy, soon drifting off into a deep sleep.

I woke up to my brother shaking my shoulder violently. I groaned loudly before rolling onto my side to face away from him as the warm blankets rolled me into a small tube. "Go away Jake."
"you need to get up, its almost seven, and you take forever to get ready for school so."
I quickly sat up, squinting my eyes as I look towards my window to see the small streams of daylight slip through them and cast shapes against the opposite wall. Did I really sleep that long?
I unraveled myself from the blankets before going to my closet and pulling out my outfit for the day. I settled with a olive green sweater and a pair of black legging to go under my long sweater.
