After Billy had left the bowling alley things became awkward. Gabe and his friends felt out of place and were looking for any excuse to get out of there. Luckily Bea had the same thing in mind too.
"Well.." Bea said, looking around at the few awkward faces looking from myself to her. "I think thats a wrap, maybe we could hang out some other time? Talk to us in school or something!" She waved off as she grabbed onto my wrist, starting to lead us out of the bowling alley.
We were about at the door before Gabe came running over, "Hey- wait. I had to gain up the courage to come over and talk to you guys and im not going to let you leave without asking to see you again?"
I had no idea he was talking to me because my attention was somewhere else, The small window next to the door was pretty cloudy, but you could still see through it and what was happening outside near Billy's car.
Billy was arguing with the girl that was on his lap not even ten minutes ago. Her hands were flying above her head as she screamed angrily at Billy. Billy on the other hand didnt even look like he was listening. He was leaned against the front of his car, lighting a cigarette, rolling his eyes every now and then as the girl continued to wave her hands in his face and push against his chest.
She seemed to finally have enough and stormed off towads a different car with two girls inside before skidding out of the parking lot, leaving Billy alone. I continued to watch as he climbed into his car then leaned his head down. It looked like he was crying. But no.. He wouldnt be crying.
"Lil." Bea hissed, hitting my shoulder.
"What?" I snapped, turning to look at her only to remember that Gabe was still standing there, shifting awkwardly on his feet.
"He asked to see you again, duh." She hummed, folding her arms over her chest while a stupid grin formed across her face.
"Oh yeah, sure I'll see you in school or something." I said.
Bea's eyes widened before mumbling an apology to Gabe, following me out of the bowling alley. "That was very rude you know.."
"Was not." I said quietly, trying to avoid making too much noise heading to my car. I didnt want Billy to look up and see us both passing right in front of him.
"He's still here." Bea snickered, tip toeing towards my car before getting in.
The sound of our doors opening made Billy lift his head up slowly, He looked at us for awhile with an unreadable expression before starting his loud car up, not bothering to look at us again before leaving as quickly as he could.
"Okay so I'm still grounded so maybe you can drop me off a block away from my house." Bea spoke, humming to a song playing on the radio.
"Yeah yeah."

Monday came around quickly after that. There was no word from Billy, I havent even heard any rumors or gossip about him which is strange. Things have gotten a little weird around here. Those kids Nancy and Steve hang around have been making more of an appearance each day. Sometimes they would wave or say hello to me before rushing to continue whatever they are doing. Which i mean cant be anything to serious, theyre only kids anyways.
"Hey there dweeb." Bea spoke once i pulled into my parking spot next to hers. She leaned into the window after i rolled it down. "Ready for a day of stupid teachers and stupid homework?"
I groaned, grabbing my backpack before finally getting out of my car, "Oh yes, I just cant wait to learn how to cut out a frogs stomach correctly."
