After the fight in the middle of the empty school parking lot i thought it would be best to get out of there. So i did, I jumped into Bea's car once I had made sure Billy and Steve went their own way and had decided that we would go to a local burger joint for some milkshakes.

Apparently half of the school had the same idea, we had to wait for a booth and the waitress was rather rude. But they have the best milkshakes in town so it was worth the wait.

"I'll have a chocolate milkshake please." Bea spoke before sliding the menu back towards the rude waitress that was now shuffling on her feet and clearly not wanting to be here.

I cleared my throat before passing my menu to her as well, "I'll have a strawberry one, please."

"Ew, strawberry? Everyone knows the only good kind of milkshake is a chocolate one." Bea's face scrunched up as she fiddled with a sting hanging from her lumpy green sweater.

I couldnt stop my mind from wondering over to Billy. I know he didnt mean to hurt me, but the faint blue bruises circling around my wrist said otherwise. How was i going to hide this? Oh man, if my mom were to see this or even my brother they would literally kill Billy and dance on his grave.

"Hellooo.. Im talking to you, Lilliana."

Bea was waving her hand in front of my face frantically. Before i could open my mouth to speak her eyes grew wide, she gripped onto my hand, examining the marks around my wrist before her soft features turned hard, "What happened? This looks bad. Wait- was the from Billy??"

"He didnt mean to, you should have seen his face, Bea."

Her eyes narrowed before she crossed her arms over her chest, already speaking with a slightly more irritated tone. "You know thats not right. You sound like a housewife in her forties that trying to cover for her abusive husband."

I couldnt help but giggle at her terrible joke. Thank goodness our milkshakes had finally gotten back to us making the subject change from Billy to something else.

"So.." I said, crossing one of my legs over my lap before sticking my plastic spoon into the pink milkshake, "Do you have your eye on anyone this year? It is the last one for us anyways."

Bea simply shoveled down the chocolate milkshake before stopping to look up at me, a deep laugh bellowing from her lips, "What? ME? No way, boys are gross."

We continued our small talk before the small bell above the door to the restaurant grabbed our attention. In came Nancy and Jonathan Byers looking rather chummy. Jonathan had his arm wrapped around Nancy's waist and they were scanning around the extremely crowded seats before their eyes landed on myself and Bea.

"Oh great," I said turning back around in my seat, sinking my shoulders down a little before whispering, "Are they coming over here?"

"Yep." Was all Bea said before refocusing on her milkshake, humming in happiness with each bite.

I tried to ignore the intense feeling of Nancy's eyes staring at the side of my head. Jonathan was the first one to speak.

"Hey Bea, Hey Lil. Mind if we join you for a few minutes. There isnt any tables available right now."

Bea and I looked at eachother, waiting for one another to give the answer. I didnt really feel as sour towards Nancy anymore. She couldnt even make up her mind on who she wanted. And im just glad i know who i wanted.

Wait what-

"Yeah sure." I was surprised by how calm my voice sounded. I scooted over in the booth and so did Bea. I was mentally hoping that Nancy wouldnt sit in front of me and thats what she did. Great.
