I could have handled the situation with Billy and Steve better than i did honestly. But when you have two angry teenage boys yelling at each other about who I would pick it doesnt exactly leave room for me to think about who i did want to go with. Basically, i just got into my car and left them standing in the middle of the parking lot. I didnt look back to see if they were still arguing, for all i know they could have started fighting right then and there. I didnt care though.
With the dance coming closer with each passing day it was obvious that both Billy and Steve were impatiently waiting for my answer. Neither of them actually came up to talk to me about it for a few days actually. There was even a few rumors going around that they both had dates already, who knows.
Its finally Wednesday , two days before the dance and every one was making a huge deal about it. Of course thats probably normal for most teenagers, but to me its not that exciting, i could either go or not go and be fine with it.
"Hey."
I turned my head to see Bea knocking on my door, a small smile on her purple colored lips from her new lipstick she has taken a liking to recently. "Your mom said you were up here so i hope you dont mind me barging in, which even if you did would still do it anyways." She laughed.I shook my head once she was sitting on my bed, facing me. "No, i dont mind. I was actually just thinking about the dance."
Bea's eyebrows lifted a little. She of all people would know my situation. "Ohhh yeah-" She paused. "If you want my opinion I think you shouldnt go with either of them. I think just by the fact that they stood there and yelled for you to choose who to go with to a dumb dance really shows a lot. But its your choice.. Billy is pretty good lookin'."
Bea was right too.
We decided to head to the mall after sitting in my room for a few hour gossiping about school work and people we both hate, which if you are a girl then you know how common that is.
Once we arrived at the mall there was only a few people there, oddly enough. Bea took us straight to the largest dress shop they had open and instantly started to look through the many bright colored dresses hanging up on display. I have no idea what color dress i would be looking for, considering i didnt know if i would need to wait so i could match with Billy. Or Steve.
I sighed, giving up after looking through about fifty dresses. Bea has already picked out three that she likes. One of them is a simple dark red color that flows loosely down to her knees and the second one was similar but black. Then the last one was silver with a small white ribbon tied around the waist. That was the one she finally chose, after three hours of going back and forth between them all.
"Hey why havent you picked one out yet, Lil?" Bea pouted, folding her arms over her chest.
"All of the cute ones are picked out already, we should have came sooner." I groaned. The only dresses i could find that i liked were either too small or was way to expensive. Call me picky i guess, but i want to look cute.
"Here try this one on." Bea said after shuffling through a few of the brightly colored dresses before pulling out a simple dark purple dress made of silk. It wasnt a sluty dress, it was just right. Before i could say anything Bea was pushing me into a changing room and throwing multiple dresses over the top of the door.
I tried to catch most of them, making a mental note to never go shopping with her again if i could help it then started to put on the dress i liked.
It was a little snug at the top but flowed down nicely around my hips to pool around my ankles. The dress was gorgeous and I knew instantly it was the one i wanted to get.
