Jacob's POV
Wait she was the one in the car crash? That's why she didn't show up. I have to go. I have to go find her. I got up quickly and ran out to my grey Chevy truck and started the engine before I could even think of what I was doing.
I didn't want to think. I just wanted to see her. I just wanted to see her and make sure she's alright. I need to make sure she's alright.
I quickly back up out of the Starbucks parking lot and out on to the road that still has bits and pieces of metal and plastic sprawled out from the crash. The crash was so horrible. I hope nothing bad happened to her. I hope she's alright.
In no time I'm at the hospital. I run up to the main desk and desperately ask what room Melody Hews is in. I don't know why she would never tell me her name because it's so pretty. "Room 211 sir," she says before quickly getting me out of the way as a line started to form behind me.
I quickly move and went to a map of the hospital on the wall beside the main desk. #200 rooms are on the second floor. I quickly turn towards the elevator which is luckily right beside the map so I don't have to go looking too hard for it. Once I'm in I make the doors close before anybody else gets in because they will just slow me down.
As the elevator beep goes off that I'm at the second floor I burst out before the doors even open all the way. As I basically run down the hallways I read the numbers in the doors. 200...201...203...206...209...210..211 found it! As I go to turn the door handle a hand lands on my shoulder.
"Who are you?" A manly voice asks. I turn to see a man probably about 6'0 with a shorter women that is probably only 5'2. They both have dark brown hair, but the women has bright blue eyes and the man has dark brown eyes.
"I'm Jacob," I say not knowing who these people are or why they care who I am.
"Oh the boy from her phone," the man says to who I'm guessing is his wife. The wife nods her head before it clicks.
"Wait you're her parents," I say thinking out loud. They both give me a weak smile before saying "yeah."
"You know kid you should really just go home," the man starts to say.
"No I'm staying. I have to see her," I say not taking any other answer.
"Well that's your decision not ours and just know that you can't see her right now she just got out of surgery," her mom says.
"Does that mean she's gonna be okay?" I ask with concern laced in my voice.
"They think so, she broke two ribs and her arm so she's not going to be doing much for a little while," the women says frowning.
I take into consideration what the women said. She got really hurt. And it's all my fault because-because she was coming to meet me. I was texting her while she was driving which I shouldn't have been doing and now she's hurt. I hurt her.
I push myself against the wall before slowly sinking down to the ground and putting my head in my hands. How could I do this to her? Why am I such a fuck up?
