It was a Saturday morning. Daniel stretched in his bed as he awoke to the sound of his phone vibrating on his desk. His eyes widening, he lunged for his desk and checked his phone for who was calling. It displayed as an unknown number.
"Hello?" Daniel asked groggily as he answered it.
"Hey Dan! How are you?" Aidelle's voice chirped at him from the loudspeaker.
Pulling the phone away from his ear as his face screwed up, he turned off the loudspeaker on his phone and switched to his right ear.
"Yeah, I'm good apart from you partially deafening me," he replied, half laughing.
"Oh! Sorry!" She exclaimed apologetically.
"No it's fine it was my fault, how'd you get my number anyway?"
"Your mum gave it to me last night when her and I were talking. Anyway, I was wondering if you'd like to hang out today?" Her cheery voice replied.
Daniel blinked with a confused expression on his face. Nobody had ever wanted to hang out with him, especially outside of school.
"Hello?" She asked, stretching the word out.
"Yeah, yeah I'm here. Sure! Where do you want to go?" He asked happily.
"The movies?" He heard her suggest.
"Okay! What do you want to watch?" He replied enthusiastically.
"Well um, I don't know what's on..."
Daniel laughed lightly before replying, "well I guess we'll decide when we get there! What time should I meet you and where?"
"Well you can come over to my place whenever and we'll walk to the movies from there," she answered.
"Alright, well I'll get ready and meet you there!"
"Sounds great!"
"I'll see you soon."
----
Daniel turned the corner of the block and waved to Aidelle as he noticed her standing outside her driveway, who waved back at him.
"Hey Dan!" She called out to him.
"Hey Aidelle, what's up?" He replied cheerfully.
"The sky," she answered, concealing a laugh.
"Really, did you really just say that?" He replied dumbfounded.
"Yes, yes I did," she laughed back at him.
"I'm seriously contemplating going back home right now," he chuckled as she stopped in front of him.
"You wouldn't dare," she responded, raising her eyebrow.
"Wouldn't I?"
"No, you wouldn't!"
"You're right."
They both laughed at one another and began to make their way to the cinemas, chatting lightly among one another. When they got to the town they walked up through the cinema steps and stood at the kiosk, their eyes scanning the selection of movies.
"How about that one?" Aidelle suggested, pointing to a movie poster with a man hooked up to a machine, faded images around his head. The title was written at the bottom of the poster in large, bold letters, which read 'Remember'.
"Remember?" Daniel asked unsurely, reading the title aloud.
"Yeah! I remember seeing the trailer, it's about this guy who loses his memory in an accident and his family is trying to do anything for him to get it back. Want to see it?"
