All you could see when you opened your eyes was darkness. The darkness was created by a cloth that obscured your vision. This was the darkness of what you felt was your own impending doom. How long had it been since you were knocked out in your vacation home in Venice, Italy? It had to have been no more than one day, maybe two. You didn't feel as if you were starving or thirsty, so maybe it was less than a day. You couldn't tell. Perhaps you could ask your captor if he or she decided take off the cursed blind fold and show themselves.
You were no idiot. You could sense the presence of someone else in the room. Your highly trained ears had picked up the faint sound of another person breathing. You didn't dare to move a muscle. Maybe if you didn't move they would get the impression that you were still knocked out. Maybe they would leave and give you some time to escape. That, however, just wasn't the case though.
The man knew that you were conscious now. He had done this specific type of job before and he knew the difference between how a person breathed when they were unconscious and how they breathed when they were awake. Your tactic couldn't fool him. He knew this game all too well. With a light chuckle, he went over to you and untied your blind fold.
"You know, bella, you're very good at staying still for extended periods of time," he spoke.
His accent was undeniably Italian. The short added "-a" to the end of some of his words was a dead giveaway.
'Okay. I'm still somewhere in Italy. That's good and all, but who the hell is this guy, and why did he kidnap me?' you thought.
You heard him chuckle again. This time it was right next to your ear. You still couldn't see him, for the room had no light. The man made sure that it changed quickly. Throwing open the curtains that shrouded the room in darkness, the light poured in. Blinded by it, you closed your eyes. You reopened them slowly in an attempt to let your eyes adjust to the oncoming brightness. What you saw was anything but ordinary.
Blood red. The color of blood was everywhere! The curtains, the carpeting, the cushions on the chairs, and even the bed sheets and drapes that hung around the bed where that one color. It made you a little sick to look at. If this was the guy's bedroom, the least he could have done was broken up all the red with black or a light cream color. Speaking of the guy, he moved in front of you, allowing you to get a good look at him.
He was tanned with dark auburn hair that held a slight red tint to it. He had an odd curl jutting off of the right side of his head. His eyes struck you as especially strange. They were a bright magenta hue, definitely not at all normal for humans. Perhaps they were just contacts? That seemed like the best logical guess to you. Meanwhile, he quirked an eyebrow at you.
"Could you maybe not stare at me like I'm some sort of freak? I get it. My eyes aren't a natural color, but I can't help that," he growled.
You looked away quickly, your neck giving off a sickening crack. You winced at the noise, but the male seemed unaffected by it. He looked like he was about to say something, but the doors bursting open behind him cut him off. A blond male, also tan in skin tone, entered with a brisk walk. He had the same curl as the other, but this one was on the left side of his head rather than the right. He had sunglasses covering his eyes, but they slid down his nose to reveal gray eyes. He gave you a bright smile as you locked your gaze with his.
"You're awake! This is fantastic! My name is-"
"You keep your whore mouth shut!"
"Fratello! She has a right to know our names! After all, we did kidnap her on her first day of vacation, which I told you was very rude of us to do."
"And what if she manages to escape? Then she'll tell people where she's been and who she's been with. Do you want us to be found out?"
"No, but this was your idea."
"And if I go down, you're going down with me."
"So be it. I'm Flavio, and this is my younger brother, Luciano."
"Stronzo! I told you not to tell her!"
"I'm older than you, therefore I don't have to listen to you."
"I could have you murdered in your sleep..."
"And leave my clients with no high end clothing? You'd be robbing the world not only of that, but of my beauty as well."
"You self-centered, egocentric, son of a-"
"I'm going to stop you right there, Luci."
Luciano groaned in frustration and pulled at his hair. Flavio approached you, still smiling and tilted your head up.
"You are absolutely gorgeous. I think I could make a wonderful model out of you. What do you say? Want to become one of my famous models and travel the world with me?"
You didn't respond since your hands were tied to the chair. Flavio grew confused as you stared at him blankly. His eyebrows knitted together.
"Are you not talking because my mean little brother has you all tied up? Here. Let me help."
He untied your hands, then your feet. You still only stared at him as he asked you to be his model again. He whined slightly and tried to get you to talk to him, but you couldn't, at least not verbally. You sighed through your nose and attempted to sign to him. His eyes lit up as two and two clicked together. He grabbed your hands and pulled you up from the chair. He then spun you around the room, having then picked your up by your waist. You looked mildly surprised and even slightly terrified.
"Oh, Luciano, all your worries have been put to rest! She's either mute or deaf or even both."
Luciano's eyes widened. "This is perfect."
'They're assholes... Luciano more so than this blond dork but still assholes...' you thought.
Flavio gushed over you and cuddled you close, walking around the room with you in his arms and constantly talking. Luciano jumped into the one sided conversation every once in a while. You just listened. It didn't seem like either of them knew any form of sign language. You'd have to suffer through this all until you could form a plan to escape the two.
