When the car stopped moving, Kuro, Luciano, and you stepped out. Luciano was still fidgeting as he stared at the second car. He ordered Kuro to keep you inside but by the front doors. The short Japanese male nodded and escorted you inside behind Luciano. He kept a firm hold of your arm as the other male nearly sprinted down a hall. He obviously knew or who was visiting, and Kuro seemed to understand why he wanted you to not follow him despite the likely punishment awaiting you.
You could hear the sound of Flavio's voice as he began talking, so they must not have been too far away from your location. Then there was the sound of two other males exchanging words. They were definitely Italian by the sound of it, but then there was an additional voice, a female voice. You didn't recognize her voice, so you assumed she came with the other two unidentified men you had yet to see. Not too long after there was a distressed cry from the female, and she ran out of the room to your location. Your first instinct was to hide, but Kuro's firm grip on your arm kept you in place. She soon came into your view, no longer running but rather speed walking towards you.
She was fairly tall for a woman and had an incredibly straight posture. Her hair was long and blonde but was styled in a half up, half down fashion. Her eyes were a dark purple with specks of magenta strewn about. Her skin was slightly tanned, and she wore a kind smile. She looked as if she had just come back from vacation or was on her way home from being on one and decided to stop by the Vargas mansion. She stood in front of you and gently removed Kuro's hand from your arm before taking your hands in hers.
"You haven't been hurt at all by my dear grandsons, have you?" she asked in English.
You shook your head, but then it hit you. She called Luciano and Flavio her grandsons. She was their grandmother. Kuro made a quick comment about you being mute and the woman let go of your hands.
"My apologies! Let me introduce myself. My name is Rema Vargas." She took a pause in her introduction as the two new males walked out followed by Luciano and Flavio, who were being dragged out by their ears by the oldest looking male. "And this is my husband, Romulus."
She gestured to the one who held onto Luciano and Flavio's ears. He was taller than Rema and had dark auburn hair like Luciano, but instead of a red tint there was a slight purple one and it had a slight curl to it. His skin was well tanned and he had the same reddish-gray eyes as Flavio. Rema then gestured to the other male who she hadn't addressed. He had dark auburn hair as well but with subtle blond highlights. His eyes were dark purple in color with gray specks in them, and, just like Romulus, had tanned skin.
"That's my son, Giovanni. You can already guess that he's the two's father." She smiled at you again and placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. "Flavio told me that him and Luciano had a lady friend staying with them for awhile, and that her name was (y/n). That is your name, correct?"
You nodded once more.
"Wonderful! It's a pleasure to meet you. Now, you have to be honest with me. Did you come to stay with the boys willingly?"
You looked over to the Vargas brothers, and they gave you a look that asked you to not say anything. You looked down at your feet and shook your head. Rema held one of your hands.
"Come with me please," she said as she began to walk with you.
She took you to a study that you had yet to be in and sat you down at an open laptop. She turned it on, logged in, and brought up a writing application. She instructed you to type exactly what had happened for her, and so you did. You typed about how your parents had sent you on a month long vacation to Venice and how they kidnapped you the night you arrived from the villa you were renting. You typed about how they treated you and forced you to be a model and maid in the household. You typed about Luciano threatening you after you had escaped during a party he threw the night before and how he had beat you back to the villa when you went to retrieve your passport to leave the country. After everything had been written, you looked up to Rema.
She looked positively horrified. She couldn't believe her sweet little grandsons would treat a lady so poorly. She sadly knew that this was life though. She knew that there were women around the world that dealt with this kind of treatment everyday with no one to help them. She could help you, however.
The blonde placed her hands on your shoulders and squeezed them gently. "I'm so sorry for all that you've been through... Maybe if Romulus, Giovanni, and I hadn't gone on vacation so suddenly, this wouldn't have happened..."
You shook your head and typed, "Don't blame yourself. This isn't your fault."
She read it and sighed. "I could have raised them better after their mother passed. I could have told Romulus to find some other heir to take his place as the Mafia Don, but I didn't... This in a sense is a fault that can be traced back to my own, and I'm incredibly sorry. I'll see if I can get you let go."
You hugged her waist over the low backing of the chair and mouthed a thank you to her. She smiled and hugged you back before helping you up and leading you to where the boys were. They were still being held hostage by their grumpy looking grandfather and disappointed father. Rema had you go with Giovanni to have tea and relax while she had a discussion with her grandsons. She took hold of their non-abused ears and began dragging them away. Luciano and Flavio whined and complained about how tightly she was holding onto their ears and tried to pry her hands away. You could tell they were about to get the scolding of a lifetime once they were secluded in a room.
You gulped as you watched them be kicked into the room they had previously been in down the hall. You noted that for a woman that was most likely in her early to mid-sixties, she was fairly strong for her age. A shiver ripped down your spine when a hand landed on the middle of your upper back. You noticed it was only Giovanni and gave him a tired smile.
"So, how about that tea Mama talked about?"
~Author's Note~
DreamsForDays here! I didn't want to leave out three of my favorite characters ever in this series, so here they are! Also, just for age reference, Reader-chan is 25, Luciano is 20, Flavio is 23, Giovanni is 45, Rema is 64, and Romulus is 69. In the next chapter, I think I'm going to switch over to first person point of view for Luciano. I figured it's fair since Luciano had a chapter like that, and this is a character x reader x character. I hope you all enjoyed this chapter! Thanks for reading! Feedback in the comments is always appreciated! Until next time!
