Chapter 8- "There's something different about her."

It was about 7:00 p.m. When the accident occurred, and it was midnight, Viper was still trying to mend Tigress' wounds. Tigress was slightly alert now, but still very drowsy. "Well, is she going to be O.K?" Po asked Viper for about the 60th time. Literally.

With a sigh, Viper responded, "yes, Po, as I told you the last 50 times, she should be alright, she's got a couple of fractures, she probably won't be able to train for several weeks. But she'll be alright; you really hit her into that stand hard."

The reminder about that, hurt Po, physically; he felt a hard feeling in his gut that must be guilt. "I'm sorry I keep bugging you about it Viper, I just don't want anything to happen to her."

"Well, something did, but there is nothing we can do to change that now is there?"

"I know, but still. I just feel so awful about it, even though it was an accident."

"I understand, can you imagine how easy it is to hurt Mantis like that?"

"HEY!" Mantis shouted from his room.

"Sorry Mantis, but it's true!" Viper shouted back. "This kind of stuff happens all the time in this art, you just deal with it after a while."

"Yeah, but with Tigress, there is something different about her, I just can't quite figure it out."

"I noticed you being a little more, clingy towards her. I hate to ask you this, but do you think, you might be in love with Tigress?"

"What?! No, of course not, what would make you think that!" Po was lying through his teeth, and Viper could tell, but she wasn't going to let Po know that.

"Um, I don't know, maybe the fact that you haven't trained with any of us for the last 5 weeks, except for Tigress."

"Really? I have?" Po knew this as well, but was still trying to lie.

"You're not even noticing, well I guess I must be wrong then, oh well." Viper finished the conversation just as she finished putting one last bandage on Tigress. "That should be it, I'm not sure when she'll wake up, but if I were you, I'd stay away from her when she does." Viper joked as she left Tigress' room.
