As I lay my head on my pillow
Ready for sleep
I close my eyes and submit myself
I wait for the darkness to take me away

For a while
But it doesn't come
Instead my thoughts
Surround me
They Consume me
They scream in my head
They scream at me
Each one wanting my focus
But how can I do that
when they don't allow me any peace
So I picture myself
sitting alone in a dark room
Wearing black
And hold the image there
And I keep holding it there
No more waiting
I sleep
The darkness takes me away
